While I’ve been scoping out the best & the latest from the runways, I was super excited (as always) to find Gucci’s 2013 Resort Collection, featuring delicate florals, luxe neutrals, dazzling jewels, & lavish gowns. Fans of Gucci include Salma Hayek, Blake Lively, Olivia Wilde, & Drew Barrymore… perhaps we can see these designs come to life during upcoming red carpet events. I love how inspiring this collection is, especially for future fall styles with thick belts, layers of beads, & statement necklaces. Check out more from Runway Rundown like Valentino’s Fall 2012 / Winter 2013 Collection, Balenciaga’s Resort 2013 Line, & Herve Leger’s new bandage dresses! Happy Styling!

Red Carpet Review: Solange Knowles Breaks Out In Style!
Solange Knowles is often the butt of every Beyoncé joke made by Joan Rivers on E!‘s Fashion Police, but there’s nothing to laugh about when it comes to this singer’s style. She’s been a serious contender on the red carpets & during various other appearances, teaching Style Darlings everywhere a thing or two about how to make separates work in the most unexpected ways. Her rebellious & flirty style are becoming her signature, clad in ankle-strap shoes, mixing prints & colors, as well as playing with proportions for her hair. As iconic as big sister Beyoncé is, there’s no doubt that Solange is an individual force to be reckoned with. Check out the gallery below to see Solange’s best looks this spring! Happy Styling!
Red Carpet Review: Your All-Access Pass To The Cannes Film Festival!
My sincerest apologies to my followers for my lengthy absence, but life has been throwing me some very tiresome curveballs. As a consolation, I’ve dug up the best images that I could find to share with my readers & created a gallery of all of the amazing looks that sparkled at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. So many of today’s most stylish stars turned out for the prestigious event, including Eva Longoria, Jessica Chastain, Salma Hayek, Heidi Klum, Kirsten Dunst, & so on! However, my overall favorite is the very daring & elegant Diane Kruger, who very obviously dominates this gallery. Not to mention that I was happy to get a sneak peek at the latest designs by Atelier Versace, Emilio Pucci, Louis Vuitton, & Gucci. There’s no such thing as too much sparkle & the stars proved this.
Take a look at the gallery & share with us who wore your favorite looks! If red carpets are your thing, be sure to check out more from Red Carpet Review, including the Met Costume Institute Gala! Happy Styling!
Luxury Look-Alikes For Less: Penelope Cruz & Cameron Diaz’s Oscar Gowns Knock-Offs!
It’s been a number of weeks now since the Oscars & Style Darling eagerly featured a red carpet gallery, which showcased stunners like Penelope Cruz in Armani Prive & Cameron Diaz in Gucci. It was probably one of the most gorgeous turn-outs on the red carpet in a long time. Fashion critics are still talking about Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford, Jennifer Lopez’s cleavage, Stacy Keibler in gold, & Angelina Jolie’s right leg!
It was only a matter of time before knock-offs of their incredibly beautiful gowns were created for the masses. As usual, these look-alikes can be found @EDressMe! We recently featured Golden Globes looks worn by Jessica Alba, Angelina Jolie, & Charlize Theron!
However, if you loved the way Penelope & Cameron looked & are in need of a show-stopping red carpet-esque evening gown, check out the Penelope Cruz-inspired Oscar dress by Faviana ($318.00) & the Cameron Diaz-inspired dress by Faviana ($398.00).

I’ve been flipping through the pages of all my favorite magazines, falling madly in love with all the latest spring styles. Red Carpet Review: 2011 Venice Film Festival Part Two Featuring Gwyneth Paltrow, Keira Knightley, & More!!
More stars have come out in support of their films which were specially selected for a screening or premiere at the 2011 Venice Film Festival. If you didn’t stop by earlier in the week, then you missed our post featuring Kate Winslet, Evan Rachel Wood, & Marisa Tomei, but click here to check out all the fashionable duds worn by these stylish celebs!

Jessica Chastain is one of my favorite new up & coming actresses, especially after her performance in The Help. However, at the festival, the actress (who has SEVEN films coming out this year) appeared at the premiere of Wild Salmone in a cap sleeve backless gown from Elie Saab with very delicate diamond accented jewelry. During a photo call for the film, she went with a bold red dress to bring out her red bangs, with nude platform heels. She even took home an award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement wearing a one-shoulder black Gucci resort gown with satin heels.
Dark Horse star Selma Blair showed off her post-baby body in two of the seasons most fashionable colors. First she showed off a demure red caftan gown by Lanvin and followed it up with a bright emerald Roland Mouret dress with patent leather heels. Gwyneth Palrow supported Contagion in a belted tangerine Prada dress with floral Nicholas Kirkwood peep toes. The Oscar winner was stunning in a blush Prada gown with a Cipria Raso clutch & Bvlgari earrings.

Last time, we saw a lot of the festival’s darling, Abbie Cornish, but here she is again in a paneled pullover & navy trousers with peep toe heels. Doesn’t she look like a younger mix between Charlize Theron & Maria Bello?! Then this custom-made colorblock gown by Gucci with clutch & pumps by Roger Vivier might just be my favorite look from the entire event!
Keira Knightley kept her movie star look in a Orla Kiely Resort 2012 navy shirt dress with gold buttons. She accessorized her daytime look with Ralph Lauren sunglasses & Tabitha Simmons ‘Evie’ camel loafers. For the red carpet, she choose a gold & beige long-sleeved Valentino couture gown with nothing but a part down the middle & pink lipstick!
Last, but not least Salma Hayek-Pinault made an appearance at the 2011 Gucci Award For Women In Cinema event, wearing a gorgeous crystal-embellished Gucci Première gown with a simple clutch & Old Hollywood updo. Madonna also continued her sunglasses-at-night look, but showed up in a 40’s-inspired, black georgette long-sleeved evening gown with a metal & gold belt by Gucci.
Who do you think has stolen the spotlight at the Venice Film Festival? Which of the selected films are you most looking forward to seeing? To keep up with all the best red carpet looks, check out all posts for Red Carpet Review. Happy Styling!

Summer is all about bright colors, fun in the sun, & light, easy style. What better way to head to the beach than with a few fabulous must-haves for a bargain of $10 & under?! These few essentials will help out your wallet & help you save for that vacation you’re planning this season!
You can’t go wrong with sunscreen! @Ulta, this spray is super easy to apply, but if you’re looking for lotions or oils, those are available as well. Not to mention, if you’re not a beach bum, but want to show off a fresh sun-kissed tan, take a look at the brand’s very affordable bronzers for $10 & under! If you sign up for the website’s emails, you’ll receive all the latest news on sales, coupon deals ($3.50 off $10 or more!), free shipping events, & specials for free samples! This is great to keep in mind if you’re about to travel, or want to save a bundle on skin care items.
Next, we have a bright & playful beach towel from Target. Obviously, you don’t need me to say this, but the brighter your towel, the more comfortable it is. And it’s sooooo soft! Stay away from dark colors which will absorb more UV rays. Not to mention, I just bought 2 towels like these which just so happened to be on sale for $5 at the time. If you check out the coupons available at the store’s website, you can receive $1 off your next towel purchase of $5 or more!
So, what are you gonna put all of your beach accessories in? A resuable recyclable bag, of course! This is an eco-friendly item & VERY budget-friendly for only $1.50 @Forever 21. From time to time I feature these bags sold in stores & on the website b/c they’re so cute & really easy to carry around. All year round the store sells brightly decorated bags like this that are perfect for running errands, carrying books from the library, or if you’re just out grabbing some groceries. Or while you’re at the beach, throw all of your essentials in it, including a book, iPod, & cell phone! Even though we are talking accessories here, I have to mention that the website has some really fabulous finds on swimwear & coverups for all sizes!
While you’re shopping around the Forever 21 site, don’t forget to take a look at their fashionable selection of eyewear, including these gray square frames. They sell hundreds of different styles for only $5.80! So if you are looking for something inexpensive to protect your eyes during a round of beach volleyball, put away your investment shades by brands like Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, or Fendi, & break out these very cute sunglasses! You can go with classic movie star frames, sqaures ones, aviators, or even something neon with some 80s flair!
Last, but not least, you can’t have a sunny day at the beach without some flip-flops! Yeah, gladiator sandals & other flat strappy picks are all the rage, but don’t flip-flops just feel like the best go-to shoes sometimes? I know that’s how I feel! You can’t go wrong with a bright patterned rubber pair like these from Old Navy which are only $5! If you catch your email alerts right, you can even find them on sale for as low as $2.50! They sell up to 9 different pairs of prints, including florals, animal-inspired, tropical patterns, & stripes to go with whatever mood or swimsuit you’re wearing!
What are your beach essentials? What music do you love to listen to? Any suggestions on how to keep your hair looking fun & healthy during the heat? Have a safe summer! Happy Styling!
Red Carpet Review: 2010 Emmy Awards, Featuring Claire Danes, Heidi Klum, Kim Kardashian, & More!
It was obvious that the small screen stars were bringing the larger than life glamour to the red carpet for Sunday’s 62nd Emmy Awards. All the leading ladies of television were following the trends of black, white, navy, & one-shoulders. Let’s just start with my absolute favorite of the night. Instantly, I knew that this would be a crowd-pleaser, guaranteed to be published in fashion magazines across the world. Claire Danes, pictured below, in a shimmering Giorgio Armani Prive strapless mermaid dress. Already it is listed on InStyle‘s Look of the Day.
Surely, Monday night’s presentation of E!‘s Fashion Police will agree with me. Regretfully, I didn’t get a chance to see the beautiful & talented Claire in the HBO movie Temple Grandin, for which she was nominated, but as soon as I saw this dress, I knew she was going to win for Best Lead Actress in a TV Movie. Just like when Charlize Theron wore her gold body-hugging Gucci gown to the 2004 Oscars, winning for her role in Monster, & Sandra Bullock wore her gold / silver Marchesa dress to this year’s Oscars, winning for her role in The Blind Side. A gold dress is a winner’s dress!
As for the black trend, I was surprised b/c not many stars take the tricky color under consideration. Of course, black done the right way is slimming, but for such an elegant affair, to risk losing some of its detail & beauty in photographs is where black goes wrong sometimes. Anyway, take a look here at Julianna Margulies in L’Wren Scott, Heidi Klum in Marchesa, Eva Longoria-Parker in Robert Rodriguez, Julia Louis Dreyfus in Narciso Rodriguez, & Kelly Osbourne in Tony Ward Couture:
I guess you can’t have black dresses without the white ones & there was no shortage of that at the Emmy’s also. White was a favorite among celebrities with figure flattering designs, metallic embellishments, & gorgeous hair. Here we have the white selection with Rose Byrne in Gucci, Kim Kardashian in Marchesa, Julie Benz in Pamella Roland Resort 2010, Brooke Burke, & Amber Riley:
An equally regal & stunning choice was navy on the red carpet. Lea Michele told Ryan Seacrest that she hadn’t worn blue lately & it reminded her of the summer midnight sky. The romantically decadent color was found in all shapes with dramatic ruffles, ruching, & Grecian draping. My favorite picks for navy are Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta, Jayma Mays in Burberry Prorsum, Julie Bowen in J. Mendel, Padma Lakshmi in Marchesa, Edie Falco, & Connie Britton:
Lastly, a trend that’s been all over the runways & red carpets for a few years now that’s always a flattering choice is the one-shoulder look. The celebrities who embraced this were Emily Blunt in Christian Dior, Jane Lynch in Ali Rahimi, Emily Deschanel in Max Azria Atelier, Nina Dobrev in Zuhair Murad, Elisabeth Moss in Donna Karan, & Cheryl Hines in Zac Posen:
Although I didn’t mention this in my intro, I’d like to point out the risk-takers, in my opinion, who both rocked their looks & maybe didn’t succeed as they’d hoped, but still, they deserve some praise. I’m not saying that I don’t like these looks, but for me, they qualify as risk-takers. Whether they were experimenting with lace, beads, prints, shape, or hemline, they stole the attention on the red carpet for just a little bit longer than the rest. Check out Diana Agron in Carolina Herrera, Tina Fey in Oscar de la Renta, Jane Krakowski in Escada, January Jones in Atelier Versace, Rutina Wesley, Sofia Vergara in Carolina Herrera, Jewel in Zuhair Murad, Kristen Wiig, & Maria Menounos in Ralph & Russo:
My predictions on the gowns that will be most knocked off are: Claire Danes’ Armani Prive, January Jones’ Atelier Versace, Kim Kardashian’s Marchesa, Emily Deschanel’s Max Azria Atelier, Heidi Klum’s Marchesa, & Eva Longoria’s Robert Rodriguez. Also, my only gripe with the whole evening was the absence of past favorites like the cast of Grey’s Anatomy & Desperate Housewives. Stars like Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl (well, not anymore), & Ellen Pompeo, as well as Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, & Teri Hatcher were always interesting to watch on the red carpet, but alas, a new generation of Gleeks, reality show stars, & vampires have invaded the scene. Happy Styling!
