At a recent school function for my daughter, I took note of a comfortable, yet luxurious looking open-front cardigan another mother was wearing & was instantly inspired to research it online & share it with readers. For one, I love the regal button details on the sleeves, even though I’m usually the type to roll up my sleeves, but also because of the color variety, despite the lack of inclusivity with sizing.
I’m tempted to invest in the mustard and/or one of the greys simply because I love the boldness of the gold buttons against the colors, & knowing how I’m always searching for ways to include grey in my wardrobe rotation. Also, I would recommend styling this sweater with a bow-neck blouse & velvet leggings for some texture, over a button-down shirt & with dark wash jeans, or with any sheath dress + knee boots combination.
For the day-to-day grind & weekend chores, I stick to one giant handbag. I’m very loyal to it until it falls apart; however, when heading out for a special occasion, I’m happy to downsize with something metallic, playful, & festive!

Sometimes, there’s fashion in unexpected places, like Aldi! I’ve definitely purchased boots, slippers, ballet flats, & socks for myself in their “fun aisle,” never paying much attention to the clothing provided since I couldn’t try it on & didn’t want to bother with returns. However, as I’ve been in the hunt for a comfortable & basic blazer recently, I was pleased to come across the Serra ponte blazer in black & tan @Aldi ($17.99, available in sizes S-XL).
While this item can only be found in stores, also rolled up in the package, I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable & easy piece to wear over a blouse, dress, or jumpsuit. I had to steam the blazer when I wanted to wear it; also, I found the sleeves were a touch long for me, wearing the XL), but I was pleased with the fit & how I styled it for a professional occasion.
I’ll likely not get the tan option, but it would be a nice option to coordinate with plaids & with rich, fall colors, like hunter green, burgundy, & rust.
So a pair of high heels may not be on every Style Darling’s holiday wishlist & it’s nearly impossible to buy someone else high heels as a surprise—unless you’ve received a specific request, you know their style & size to a tee, or you’re a stylist who can read people’s style needs easily. However, for the rest of us, some high heels remain a dream & that’s fine. That’s not to say that I’ve hung up my high heel collection & passion, but we’re taking a break in the name of happy arches & comfortable days at work.
