The Stylish Five: Friday The 13th Deals ($13 & Under!)

Not only can we say TGIF today, but it is Friday, the 13th! So if you’re superstitious, good luck today! In celebration of the often down-on-your-luck lauded day, I’ve added a new post to The Stylish Five, including some stylish deals on items under $13.00.  Of course, with my arsenal of go-to stores, this wasn’t very hard. The hard part was narrowing down my picks to just five pieces!

@Forever 21, this perforated knit cardigan ($12.80) in yellow is perfect for throwing over your favorite summer dress when it starts to get cooler at night.  I love the lemon yellow hue which is perfect to pair with virtually any color under the sun, including tangerine, cornflower blue, slate, & fuchsia.  Next up is a stop @Old Navy for some bangle fun with the satin-covered bracelet ($6.47). The edgy accessory is available in black, orange, yellow, & blue.  Mix them together or wear them with an assortment of other bracelets to create a textured effect.  While we have jewelry on the brain, JCP‘s everyday deals include the Color Craze pink chandelier earrings ($3.00) which will make any maxi dress look all the more exotic or can very easily dress up a shorts romper.

Nothing says classic quite like a button down, & The Limited‘s Collins shirt ($12.99) makes a bold statement in cobalt, but since this is such a great deal, why not splurge on the grey & purple options too? Wear this tucked in with a pencil skirt & pumps or loose over some cropped jeans & wedges.  Lastly, I’ve been searching high & low for the perfect pair of purple flip-flops & I should’ve have known that the Lita flip-flops ($3.99) from Wet Seal would be the answer to my prayers.  These are perfect for any & every casual event, but if you’re looking for more color variety, have no fear b/c they’re also available in yellow, turquoise, & pink!

Which of these five picks is your favorite? What special Friday the 13th deals are you scouring the internet for? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Old Navy Summer Dresses On Sale!

There’s nothing quite like a summer dress sale to get the blood pumping.  Since I’ve been crazy busy these last few weeks, I haven’t given much notice to the latest & greatest at one of my favorite stores, Old Navy.  I went to the local store with my bestie last weekend & drooled over some of the styles, but this one blue summer dress caught my eye.  It’s no longer available on the store’s website, but that’s only b/c a few days after I spotted this dress, I received an email from Old Navy that it was marked down to $17.00. The patterned sweetheart dress (originally $34.94) then seemed attainable, only b/c I’m on a heavily restricted budget.

Not to mention that in preparation for the transition from spring to summer, I’ve been able to sqitch around my closet to find that last year’s collection of classic all-purpose spring dresses are too big one me! I’ve dropped a whole dress size & am troubled by the fact that I may have nothing flattering to wear this season.  I was able to get my hands on this dress in the store, priced just right in my new smaller size, but I highly recommend the cute yellow version, or any of the other flirty & comfortable dresses that the store currently has on sale! With prices like these, anyone can have a stylish summer! Don’t forget that this sale ends on 6/13 & these dresses are definitely selling quick!!

The $100 Challenge: Two Stylish Spring Looks, Under $100 Each!

There’s just so much to be excited about this spring & I know I’ve yet to post a complete outfit look! I’m psyched to share these two spring-ready ensembles, which cost under $100 each, hence why I’m featuring them in The $100 Challenge! However, this is a first for the category since I’m sharing with readers a look for Style Darlings who wear regular sizes & plus sizes, which can usually be seen in Darling of the Day.  I’m always encouraging readers to embrace their shapes b/c no matter what you look like, you can always have amazing style!

Let’s start with the plus-size look, which consists of many items from Forever 21‘s Plus 21 line.  It’s affordable & plus-size friendly, featuring casual apparel, as well as dressy duds.  There, you can find the peacock feather print top ($14.80), fringe trim open cardigan ($24.80), sleeping teddy bear shopper tote ($1.50), lace web medallion earrings ($2.80), & night sky bangles ($4.80). I also included the Fantasy jegging capris ($29.99) from Dress Barn & American Eagle Miles espadrille wedges ($19.99) in white from Payless b/c they’re available in wide width for those of you who are troubled by narrow-fitting shoes.  The grand total for this adorable casual & chic look is $98.68!

As for the look on the right, I also did some digging around @Forever 21 & found the striped rose tunic ($17.80) & frayed stripes scarf ($6.80). Then @Old Navy, I choose the crossbody saddle purse ($11.99) & satin covered bracelets ($10.50). To complete the looks, I found the Mossimo Supply Co. capri leggings ($8.00) from Target, Jennifer Lopez silver tone hoop drop earrings ($13.50) from Kohl’s, & Ciao Bella Ballad foldable flat ($19.94) from DSW. The total for this look is $99.03!

I love that both of these looks include pieces that can be dressed in so many different ways with items that we already own in our closet.  try the capris with a three-quarter sleeve button down & some ballet flats.  Of how about the crossbody bag & bangles with printed shorts romper? Oh the possibilities are endless! Which items are your favorites? How would you style these tops & bottoms? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Spring Into Action @Old Navy (Dedicated to Rosie)!

Normally, I post about items that I pick out or suggest to friends, but I’m so super impressed with my best friend’s recent purchase that I just had to feature it here on Style Darling! Of course, I will take some credit b/c she asked me what colors I think would look good with an orange dress.  Based on a recent spread from one of my favorite fashion magazines, I suggested to her yellow, neutral, brown, olive, or royal blue.  I knew Rosie had been on the search for some spring-friendly espadrille wedges, ones not too high so that they’re comfortable enough to walk around in & here’s the end result of our style collaboration.  Although I should clarify that Rosie, my super duper bestie, picked out this outfit & I’ve suggested the two belts to help complete the look if she was going to wear it for an occasion.

Where did we go for this impulse ensemble? Old Navy, of course! She picked out the draped jersey tank dress ($20.00) in orange with the mixed pleated wedges ($28.50) in blue.  Also, the dress is available in black, in sizes ranging from XS – XXL.  The shoes are also sold in multiple colors like neutral, green, and while, in sizes 6-11.

The combination is very fashion forward, unexpected, and fresh for the spring / summer season!  This would also look great with an abstract print cardigan or denim jacket for day time.  For those warmer summer days when a lightweight dress is just the thing, perhaps adding a belt will help accentuate the waist & I suggested the faux patent leather narrow belt ($12.94) in blue, but it’s available in black too! Or if you’re wearing a dress like this with neutral accessories, the braided faux leather belt ($16.94) in brown will let the orange in the dress pop even more.

For more posts dedicated to my very good & stylish circle of friends, check out celebritiy-inspired scarf looks, best jackets for day & night, & a comfortable chic outfit for under $100!

What do you think of this dress? What colors would you style it with? Which new items are you looking to add to your spring / summer wardrobe? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: 20% Off Special Discount Today Only @OldNavy.com!

So maybe some of you are bad & go shopping online at work, but sometimes it just works out that way since the stores are so crowded & we all work long hours. Perhaps to help fellow Style Darlings out, here’s a little tip about what’s going on @Old Navy‘s website.  Today only, you can get 20% off your order with code ONHOLIDAY! There are a few exclusions to this discount, so be sure to check out the website to get all the details.  In addition, if you spend over $50, you can benefit from everyday FREE SHIPPING!

I’ve picked out two favorite of-the-moment items on the website.  The striped cap-sleeve top ($14.00) in black rugby stripe is an essential necessary to recreate that Parisian chic look that’s so popular on celebs like Taylor Swift & Miranda Kerr.  The flattering fit is available in sizes XS – XL & it’s marked down from $24.94.  In addition, I love the pop of color in the collarless wool-blend coat ($74.94) in ruby pink.  This coat is also available in cream, another regal option for your outerwear collection.

Which are your favorite pieces @Old Navy right now?  Are these items on your holiday shopping list? Happy Styling!

Black Friday Sale Update: EVERYTHING Is On Sale @Old Navy!

Even if you’re not shopping for yourself on this very busy Black Friday, you should head over to Old Navy b/c everything in the store is on sale today & tomorrow! However, I picked out a few of my favorites, including the wool-blend double-breasted coat ($44.50) in blue plaid.  It’s also available in cream, red, & black in sizes XS – XXL for women.  I’m not the blazer wearing kind of Style Darling, but I thought that the jersey-fleece blazer ($19.50) was an unconventional, yet fashionable take on comfy, casual clothing.  Also, everyone needs a little sparkle, like with the sequined henley tank ($18.00), or try some frill with the ruffle-front henley top ($8.00).  Both tops can be layered with other pieces & worn to be dressed up depending on the bottoms & accessories. Happy Styling!

The Stylish Five: What Can You Get For (About) $11.00?

In honor of today’s date, I wanted to post at the price point of (about) $11.00. Although I missed posting this @11:11:11am, you still gotta admit that today’s date is a little weird.

Anyway, why not invest your $11.00 in something chic & stylish to add a little extra splash to your look.  There are plenty of sites & stores from which a Style Darling can choose, including Forever 21, The Limited, Payless, Old Navy, & Kohl’s.

If you’re planning an upcoming winter vacation, the embroidered insert woven top ($10.99) is a major plus-size find b/c Forever 21 is also having a promotion of 11% off with the code: ONEDAY11.  Also, if you’re headed to a warm-weather location, the Tamra buckle sandal ($10.99) is a cute way to wear flats, especially with the green & brown color combination.

To help make this fall a little more glamorous, the gold link large square scarf ($9.99) is adorable for a pullover sweater & jeans, or to dress down a little black dress with ballet flats!  Sometimes hoops, chandelier, or feather earrings can look overwrought with detail, but I much prefer to look of delicate drops like the gold tone chocolate simulated pearl drop earrings ($11.20). They’re soft & feminine, perfect to wear with a cable-knit sweater with a belted pencil skirt for a day at the office.

Lastly, while we start to snuggle up for an at-home spa day, treat your feet to the terry thong slippers ($10.00) which are available in green, black, blue, pink, & white.  I actually own there & they great for getting out of the shower, painting your toenails, & hugging your foot after a long day in high heels.

What can you find for about $11.00 on this very honorable Veteran’s Day? What stores do you shop in for the best holiday sales?  Happy Styling!

Inside A Style Blogger’s Closet: How I Styled A Summer Dress ($8.74) For Fall!

I took a recent trip to Target, just to return something & pick up some tortilla wraps, but of course I was swayed to check out the clearance section in the women’s clothing department.  Despite my protest against buying yet another dress since I clearly have no closet space for it, the $8.74 price tag made all the difference when I saw the Converse One ‘Adna’ Dress ($34.99 online).  Not to mention, that the only two dresses on the rack were in a Medium, so I didn’t think it would fit.  But then again, I did recently lose some weight, so I ducked into the fitting room to try it on. Now, this is me, at home with my new dress friend, smiling like it’s Christmas day!

I bought the wide stretch belt by Minicci ($12.99) a while back from Payless, of course with a coupon when it was on sale for $7.99. Also, the crocodile tights ($9.80) were another recent coupon purchase from Kohl’s by Simply Vera Vera Wang. I got 20% off just for being a cardholder!

The cardigan is a last season clearance purchase from Old Navy (I’m sure it was under $12).  Since the dress is pretty lightweight, the heaviness of the knit cardigan is a perfect match to add some texture & make it fall-ready! My staple sunburst necklace comes from Park Lane Jewelry, in which I received at a discounted price since I reaped the benefits of hosting a jewelry party two summers ago.

I bet you’re all wondering about the shoes.. They’re from Payless by Lela Rose.  I bought them about two winters ago, probably for around $38.00, but I’m sure that there was a BOGO 50% off deal in there somewhere!  I’m a big fan of black & cream, so this is a perfect uniform for me this fall.

I’m especially proud of the closeup on the headband since I made it myself, with a basic fabric-wrapped headband from a dollar store, as well as ribbons & lace from stores like Michael’s, Walmart, & Joann’s Fabrics & Craft Stores. I love all the different details in this look, knowing that it’s not too busy or bulky.

What do you think of my first official outfit posting?  All together it probably cost just over $100, but all of it can be mixed & matched with different outfits.  I can’t wait to see how this dress looks next summer with some wedges & an updo!  If you like looks that can be switched up b/w seasons, check out The $100 Challenge! Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Get Cozy & Comfy with Old Navy Sale Items!

A new Old Navy store recently opened just a few miles away, so I was super psyched to see that they had some pretty big sales going on!  I treated myself to some cold-weather favorites, but the prices in the store were actually much, much cheaper! This just goes to show that the online sales aren’t always the better deal.  You gotta do your style research!

There’s nothing that I love more than a cozy, but stylish top to pair with jeans & boots for a fall day.  Even though this past weekend was very summer-like in the 80s, I’m happy to say that I’m refreshing my fall / winter wardrobe on a budget.  I love the shawl collar cardigan ($34.00), also available in red.  You can layer it for much colder says over a button down shirt, or put it over a summer top with a denim skirt.  I did go home with the cropped fleece jacket ($20.00), but found that the charcoal was better suited for my style.  It’s the perfect way to complete your look without breaking out the down jacket when it’s really not too chilly out.

I know my friend Laurie would love the collared breezy blouse ($27.00) for its versatility & earth-tone.  It comes in growing green, frosty peach, black jack, & brown animal print in sizes XS – XXL.  It’s a stylish basic to go under a sweater vest, with wide leg trouser jeans, belted under a cardigan, or worn open with a graphic tee & skinny pants.

For something heavier, the cropped cowl neck sweater ($29.00) is just the piece to dress down leather leggings, brocade cigarette pants, or a tweed pencil skirt for weekend events or day gatherings.  If you’re just not ready for all that bulk, the dolman-sleeve cardigan ($25.00) is a smart way to dress up some basic slacks, or wear your sparkly flair at the office.

Lastly, I also found a home from the preppy ‘plumonade’ mini cable-knit v-neck sweater ($22.00), which is also available in black jack, bright white, baby spinach, crimson & clover, oatmeal heather, & medium heather gray.  It’s great for a pencil skirt & patent leather belt, or worn over a collared shirt for a job interview.

The Stylish Five: Cute Cold Weather Accessories ($25 & Under)!

Even though this weekend’s weather had me fooled into thinking that it was August, I’m loving all of the new cold weather accessories in stores.  Of course you have your choice of scarves, hats, gloves, & earmuffs, but these are some of my favorites to kick off the season! For $25 & under, take a look at some of the staple pieces that you can enjoy all season long!

For anyone looking to protect your hair from the upcoming harsh weather, take a cue from Parisian chic style with this beret ($5.95) from H&M.  It’s available in gray, camel, & black, which means that it’s the perfect neutral to any peacoat or trench.  Also at the Swedish retailer, you can have 100% leather gloves ($24.95) in rich golden brown or black.  They’re lined & available in sizes small to large.

However, if you’re a knit-lover, take a look at the playful, taupe cable knit pom pom scarf ($16.94) from Old Navy.  In case you want to show off a pop of color in your cold weather accessories, this heavy, snow-bunny-inspired scarf is also sold in red.  You can protect your arms with fingerless gloves ($7.80) in gray, oatmeal, or fuchsia, sold @Forever 21.  Your fingers will be available to text your friends or play your favorite tunes on your iPod!

Lastly, my favorite of all of these pieces is the knit flower headwrap ($7.99) in berry from Payless.  They’re currently marked down from $9.99 & also sold in black & white.  And now why I love this… in January, I spent some time in Florence, Italy.  Of course most people don’t vacation in the winter to winter locations, but I had the amazing opportunity to discover some incredible style, including a knit headwrap.  It always takes a year for the European trends to make their way stateside, so I’m ahead of the game! Now, headwraps are all the rage & this adorable one is a perfect example of that! In addition to taking place of a cute headband, I love that this causes a lot less static in my hair as opposed to a knit hat!

What cold weather accessories are you looking for this season?  What’s your staple piece that you can’t live without when the temperature drops?  Where do you shop for hats, scarves, & gloves?  Happy Styling?

10/6/11 Darling of the Day: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Isabel Marant Fur Vest, Burberry Aviators, & More Affordable Style!

What better way to start off the fall than with a fur vest?  AND whenever I talk about fur, it’s always faux fur!  As soon as I saw Rosie Huntington – Whiteley‘s look while strolling through Beverly Hills on In Style, I knew this was going to be a Darling of the Day post!

The Victoria’s Secret model sports a casual white tee under an Isabel Marant fur vest with skinny jeans, Burberry aviators, gray booties, & a tote by Alexander Wang.  This is the best sunny day look as the seasons are changing, mixing your favorite basic tee & clean skinny jeans with fall favorites like booties & a vest.

To get this look, take a top like the kiss tee ($24.50) from Victoria’s Secret, which can be paired with a leather mini skirt or cigarette pants with a bib necklace or hoop earrings.  Skinny crop jeans ($44.99) from Gap can easily go from day-to-night by switching up wedges with knee boots or a tunic top with a dolman blouse. @Forever 21, this very affordable vest ($37.80) is perfect to also make an LBD & gladiator sandals a little more edgy or with a maxi dress & cowboy boots!

As for my plus-size Style Darlings, check out the white slub tee ($16.99) from Dress Barn, Forever 21+ distressed skinny jeans ($24.80), & an I.N.C. sleeveless faux fur vest ($39.99) from Macy’s.

My favorite part of this whole look is the gray faux leather shooties ($29.00), which can be found at Old Navy, marked down from $32.94! They look just like a beloved pair that I bought from Payless a few winters ago!  Aviators are everywhere & the silver & black pair ($5.80) is cool, timeless, & sporty. As for a bag, @H&M, this spacious shoulder bag ($17.95) in rich golden brown is a functional & fashionable option to carry around all your favorite belongings.  It’s neutrality is what you need for a day-to-day basis & it’s the ultimate piece to rely on when jet-setting around the globe any time of the year!

All the pieces can be alternated with so many other excellent pieces in your wardrobe, so investing in skinny jeans, booties, & a vest like this makes for so many different looks!  For more on Rosie, check out Basics for a Bargain & Red Carpet Review.  Also, to get more dish on how to dress like a celebrity, check out previous Darling of the Day posts featuring Jessica Biel, Anna Paquin, & Kristen Stewart! 10/1/11 Darling of the Day: Jessica Biel’s Day Out in Toronto!

Shame on me for taking a few tiresome days off from blogging! However, I’m back now with some fierce style to talk about!  I’ve had this image of Jessica Biel saved in my favorites for a while now & I just love it!

During a stroll in Toronto, the actress is wearing a feminine bow-front long-sleeved blouse with Paige Denim jeans, peep toe flats, round tortoise sunglasses, & a studded tote bag.  Any Style Darling can pull off this look b/c it’s just so classic & effortless.  Everyone should have a go-to blouse to begin with & it’s always polished & day-ready when paired with dark denim jeans!

Staying true to my promise of featuring both women’s & plus-size style, I’ve first selected these skinny mini-flare jeans from Old Navy ($29.00) that are currently marked down from $36.94 & range in sizes 0 – 20.  To go with the jeans, you can find the bow neck blouse in parchmen by a.n.a. from JC Penney ($24.99), which is also currently on sale, originally marked $38.00.  For my fuller-figured Darlings, the tie ruffle blouse ($38.00) is available in sizes 14 – 32 @Avenue.  If you think the white looks too matronly, there is also a black option of the blouse available too!

As for the three most important finishing touches, I’m so happy to have found these classic round tortoise sunglasses ($5.80) from Forever 21.  They’ll never go out of style & can protect your eyes in wearing a maxi dress with a crochet vest, or even in a cocktail ready sheath dress.  At the same retailer, you can find the strappy leatherette handbag in dark brown ($29.80), which can be adjusted multiple ways to serve whatever function you need it to! Lastly, the ‘Coreil’ flower embellished peep toe flats ($39.98) are from ALDO, marked down from $50.00.  There, you can also find cute fall-ready flats on clearance for as low as $11.98!

Check out my previous Darling of the Day posts featuring Lea Michele, Miranda Kerr, & Kerry Washington! Would you wear a bow-bedecked blouse like this?  Where do you shop for jeans?  Are you dying over the return of mega-flared jeans?  Happy Styling!

9/5/11 Darling of the Day: Miranda Kerr is Parisian Casual Chic with Louis Vuitton!

This is the time of year when you have to start integrating some of your summer pieces with the fall ones & here we have Miranda Kerr showing off nautical stripes in a fashion forward way for fall! The Victoria’s Secret model left Sydney, Australia in style, wearing a striped tee, jeans by Nobody, while carrying a Louis Vuitton tote.

I’ve put together this look in women’s & plus sizes b/c it’s just so easy for anyone to wear.  You can find the plus size stripe top  & the plus size skinny jeans both @Forever 21 for $15.80$24.80 respectively.  Also, the stripe top is from The Gap, on sale for $15.00.  Also, @Old Navy, the ankle crop jeans are marked down to $24.50 from $29.50.

What makes this outfit look a little Parisian chic is the effortless way that Miranda adds a pop of color with red peep toe pumps, which can be found for $10.95 @GOjane! The simplicity behind the additional accessories makes this look all the more complete, especially if you check out the sunglasses for $5.80, hat from Payless for $14.99, & Nine West crossbody tote for $31.60.

Last but not least, just some simple touches of jewelry show how really glamorous you can be, even on your busy, jet-setting travel days.  I found this quirky spider ring for $15.00 from Kohl’s & the Anne Klein bangle from Macy’s for $28.00.  When it’s just a ring & bangle, don’t be afraid to mix gold & silver, or you can wear the bracelet on one hand & the ring on the other.

Would you wear heels when you’re traveling from coast to coast?  Do you like Miranda’s look?  How do you like to wear stripes?  Check out our previous Darling of the Day posts, featuring Jordana Brewster, Pippa Middleton, Leighton Meester, & many more!

The Stylish Five: Summer Handbags Sale ($20 & Under)!

Some of my readers are more bag fanatics than into shoes (why? I’,ll never know lol), so here I’ve decided to choose some of the cutest handbag / clutch finds that are either on sale on for the end of the summer season.  Not to mention that all these styles are under $20!  You can’t beat that!

First, when you’re running errands, or doing some shopping, hang on to a tote bag, like the Poppie Jones Sketchy Tote, marked down @DSW from $38.00 to $19.94!  This is perfect for casual days to hold a go-to magazine for a subway ride, your favorite book, or even a back-up sweater if headed to a chilly restaurant for a luncheon with the girls.  While you’re shopping around the sale section of DSW, check out the Nine West Billiards Crossbody Bag, also on sale & reduced from $39.00 to $19.95.  The fun animal-inspired flair to the bag is sexy enough to wear for a night out, but also great to carry around during the day with a pair of skinny jeans & a basic tee with flats.

If you’re looking for something floral to carry around from day-today, take a look on over @Target to the Global Girlfriend Ugandan Waxcloth Crossbody Sling Bag in tan.  The pattern is neutral, yet feminine- perfect to match with a cargo skirt & tank or with a casual summer dress while headed out to the library.  It’s also on sale for $9.94, marked down from earlier in the season at $26.99.  For fancier nights out, grab this Glittery Mesh Clutch in gold from Forever 21, for $17.80.  It’s the ultimate choice in a metallic accessory to pair with an LBD or a patterned ruffle mini dress.  Last, but not least, add some texture to your summer look with a Straw Rosette Tote.  It’s available in black or brown @Old Navy for under $13.00 & shows off just enough summer fun that you can probably pack a moderate surprise picnic for two inside!

Since now is the time for all of the end-of-the-season markdowns, be sure to check out more of my posts for The Stylish Five, featuring hair accessories, deals on beauty items, & dresses!  Happy Styling!

7/29/11 Darling of the Day: Kristen Stewart Casual in Converse @Comic Con!

At this week’s Comic Con, Twilight star Kristen Stewart showed off her edgy / casual style in a tissue tee by Market, with a black bra, skinny jeans, & her favorite pair of Converse sneakers.  I wouldn’t recommend this look for most Style Darlings, but lately, the actress has been pulling it off, looking a bit softer & feminine than usual.  Anyone agree?

Endorsing a $47.99 tee isn’t my usual way of style blogging for a bargain, but I came across this see-thru tee from Bluefly that would replicate this look perfectly.  If you alternate this enough with other items you currently own, it will really begin to earn its value. Also, I choose this plus-size top from Old Navy, which is only $8.00 & available in nine other colors.  If you’re looking for some color in a look like this, then that’s your best bet!  As for jeans, I stuck to Old Navy with Flirt skinny jeans for $19.97 & Plus braid-trim skinny jeans for $39.94.

Kristen keeps it simple, but sexy with a black bra underneath & what better way to buy a black bra, than to get a white one with it for practically free!  This duo set is only $32.oo @Victoria’s Secret.  I’ve actually used coupons for this item & it’s been an essential part of my undergarment collection & you can’t get any better than Vickie’s!  A rectangular ring is all that she wears & here’s a great silver pick from Forever 21, costing barely $5.00! Lastly, while brand-name Converse sneakers run up to $90.00, I found high top look-alikes from Payless for $29.99 by Airwalk.

All & all, this look will cost you anywhere between $98.73 to $118.75, which really isn’t bad for one outfit that can be mixed & matched to follow the latest trends. For more on Kristen’s style, check out Red Carpet Review: The 2011 Met Costume Institute Gala & In Style’s Star Finder to see all her red carpet looks.  Happy Styling!

The $100 Challenge: Best Bargains for a Beach Bum!

I recently posted a blog called The Stylish Five: Bargain Beach Accessories ($10 & Under)! but here I’ve put together an entire beach look for under $100!  This outfit is both sexy & fun, demonstrating the only playful time that I would mix so many animal prints.  Summer is about having fun & embracing patterns, so why not have some fun with your accessories too?

Starting off, we have this slimming shirred halter swimsuit by Catalina sold @Walmart for $32.00.  It’s also available in black & teal, but I went with the red b/c it’s a little spicier.  It recalls a very vintage Marilyn Monroe feeling.  Although I wouldn’t actually do it at the beach, wearing a sexy sarong with some towering platform sandals would make for a sexy way to greet your beau when he comes home from the office this summer!  While this suit is ideal for any body type, check out Walmart’s entire department of swimwear for more affordable separates & one-pieces in almost every size!

Next is the all important terry ho0ded cover-up in white.  It’s fresh-looking against the red of the swimsuit, super easy to wear, & only $19.50 @Old Navy.  It is also available in pink & army green, but I like the white the best! Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Old Navy Tanks Perfect for Skirts, Shorts, & More!

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been giving my Old Navy credit card quite the work out & it’s nobody’s fault but my own- in that I have a terrible weakness for stylish deals!  While these four tank tops may not look like anything special, they have become very versatile & vital items in my closet in a very surprising way.

I’m not usually a stripes girl, maybe wearing them in skirt to look more flattering, but I found the purple & green striped tank, which are marked down as low as $3.97.  They fit perfectly & I knew they would be simple selections for my cropped capris or denim skirts this summer.  Not to mention that I have coordinating flip-flops for them.  However, I surprised myself when wearing them both with the mixture of other more feminine items.  I broke out the purple tank for a jersey knit tiered skirt & a thick white crochet belt.  All I needed were some cowboy boots & I would’ve looked like I stepped off of a Carrie Underwood music video, but somehow the look felt very appropriately me.  Although the tops were striped, I opted for floral patterned flip flops for my day out & about over the weekend & felt every bit a Style Darling.  Also, I selected the green striped tank to be layered under a white cableknit short-sleeved cardigan & a linen drawstring skirt, recalling a very preppy / nautical look. For casual & effortlessly stylish days, I was very proud of myself.

Next, the black tanks are invaluable, marked for $8.50 & $10, serving for perfect basics to pair with brighter & bolder items.  I even like the lace-strapped tank with a crochet bolero & my cargo crops with some animal print strappy sandals.  These are the essential items in which a Style Darling can build the foundation of a fabulous wardrobe. The spaghetti strap tank was worn with a teal wrap dress, so as not to provoke a wardrobe malfunction which walking around the office & I loved that I didn’t have to sit & adjust it all day like I usually do with layering items.

These are great pieces for any time of the year, especially in the fall & winter when it’s time to break out the chunky sweater or long-sleeved tops.  These make for fun contrasting layers when you want to add more dimension to your outfit.  All four of these items are reduced in price & have been for a while, so they probably won’t last long online or in stores.  So check out all the tanks & sale items at Old Navy.  Don’t forget to use your Old Navy credit card to get rewards points & future discounts, as well as taking the survey to receive a code for 10% off your next purchase!
