While I’ve been scoping out the best & the latest from the runways, I was super excited (as always) to find Gucci’s 2013 Resort Collection, featuring delicate florals, luxe neutrals, dazzling jewels, & lavish gowns. Fans of Gucci include Salma Hayek, Blake Lively, Olivia Wilde, & Drew Barrymore… perhaps we can see these designs come to life during upcoming red carpet events. I love how inspiring this collection is, especially for future fall styles with thick belts, layers of beads, & statement necklaces. I can already see the likes of red carpet veterans like Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, & Meryl Streep donning these unforgettable designs. Jason Wu is one of the most in-demand designers right now. It was a no-brainer to search for his latest Resort 2013 Collection, especially when some of my favorite red carpet regulars like Michelle Williams, Diane Kruger, & Emma Stone have been spotted wearing feminine frocks from the line. Runway Rundown: Michael Kors Resort 2013 Collection!
Michael Kors is one of the most celebrated America designers, famously worn by celebrities like Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, & Mary J. Blige. With this, I’ve decided to add his Resort 2013 Collection to the arsenal of galleries that I’ve recently posted in Runway Rundown. With details like gold lace, vintage-inspired swimsuits, & printed maxi dresses, this is probably one of my favorite collections of the season, which the designer describes as “opulent minimalism.” Happy Styling!

This collection by Balenciaga is full of chic separates, sweet cut-outs, & a juxtaposition of soft & hard. The summer / fall forecast for fashion is clearly not letting go of the bandage dress trend, made famous by Herve Leger by Max Azria. While the trend has transformed the way curvy Style Darlings dress, the latest collection from the design house has proved that the bandage dress is still going strong. Runway Rundown: Jennifer Hudson’s New QVC Collection!
Starting September 6th, Oscar-Grammy-winner Jennifer Hudson will be debuting her very first eponymous collection for QVC, featuring elegant dresses, flowy tops, slimming leggings, & jackets. Courtesy of In Style, Style Darling is sharing a sneak peek at the collection that’s priced under $170. The American Idol alum told the magazine, “I wanted to focus on being comfortable, but being cute at the same time. I was [inspired by] Michael Kors, because I feel that he focuses on the ‘real woman,’ you know? Every curve.“
The actress / singer is definitely keeping busy, launching this line, while also joining the cast of Smash for its second season this fall. Take a look at the collection & mark your calendar’s for the line’s QVC debut! Happy Styling!

Jenni Kayne isn’t a designer that I talk about a lot, but when I saw these images for her Resort 2013 Collection, I was super excited, as always, to share them with readers. I think the style is preppy, but still minimalist in a fashion-forward way. Celebs like Chloe Sevigny or Alexa Chung are likely to take pieces from this collection & incorporate them into their own style. Not to mention that baring your midriff is all the rage right now & if you’re away on vacation & have the abs to pull of some of these looks, then go for it!

I’ve been very serious lately about my Runway Rundown posts, featuring all the latest designs debuting on the catwalk & one that I was especially excited to see was the Resort 2013 collection by Derek Lam. I found a link to Elle that showed me the proportionally creative line, featuring separates that are likely to be seen on stars like Angelina Jolie, Alexa Chung, or Emma Stone this season. While some of it is meant to thrive on the runway, there are plenty of opportunities for inspiration here, especially mixing prints in your own wardrobe. Salvatore Ferragamo is by far one of the most iconic designers, having made shoes for the likes of Sophia Loren, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, & Marilyn Monroe. Talk about a client list! Well, recently the brand famous for its shoes & accessories have expanded with a stunning resort / ready-to-wear collection that was shown at… of all places… The Louvre!
Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester, Indian actress Freida Pinto, & double Oscar winner Hilary Swank sat first row to celebrate the festivities for a show that was beyond gorgeous. Never has resort-wear looked so accessible for everyday use. Of course, the price tag on these items is astronomical, but I’m always the first to say that fashion at any price point deserves appreciation. You can never go wrong with Ferragamo too!

After seeing these beyond beautiful designs, Miele has instantly become one of my top 5 designers. I love the elegant lines, delicate pleating, decadent colors, splashes of metallic, & effortless ease of these truly artful garments. These can easily be seen on the stars of this summer’s blockbusters & most-anticipated films like Emma Stone (The Amazing Spiderman), Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Keira Knightley (Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World), Elizabeth Banks (People Like Us), & Michelle Williams (Take This Waltz).

Runway Rundown: Stella McCartney’s Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection!
One of the benefits of sitting at the computer practically 24/7 is getting exposure to all the latest & greatest that’s going on in the world of fashion. Typically I don’t feature entire collections, but one particular posting on Facebook made my Stella McCartney caught my eye, especially since I’ve been feeling a lot about separates this season. As you can see by my previous blog about the lovely Solange Knowles, it’s never too late to put that frock back in your closet & mix a menswear-inspired jacket with a frilly dress & edgy heels. Here, the famous British designer has brought a refreshing new twist on her signature androgynous looks. Surely, big name celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, & Kate Hudson will be donning some of these pieces, which are already so perfect to mix & match with other wardrobe staples.
Of course, these are not inexpensive items & do not fall under the category of “bargain,” by any means, but as always, I think it’s important to keep up with what trends are hitting the runways, opening up yet another opportunity for some style inspiration! Runway Rundown: Male Celebs Hit The Catwalk For Prada!
I really never post about men’s fashion, only b/c I know that my proficiency is with the fairer sex. However, while clicking around on In Style, I was tickled by this latest news piece. Back in January during Fashion Week, some of today’s most celebrated and/or up-and-coming actors hit the catwalk in show of support for Prada. See below for Country Strong star Garrett Hedlund, Into The Wild‘s Emile Hirsch, Oscar-winner Adrien Brody, Lie To Me star Tim Roth, & the original big screen Billy Elliot, Jamie Bell.
However, most recently Bell & Hedlund returned to don Prada’s aristocrat-inspired line for the label’s latest ad campaign, alongside highly-lauded thespians, Gary Oldman & Willem Dafoe. It’s not often that we see such an eclectic mix turn out for a high-end fashion ad, but it’s always refreshing to see the new ways that a legendary name like Prada proves their relevancy & range in the business.

Runway Rundown: Zac Posen’s Z Spoke Collection for Lord & Taylor!
I’m super excited to share the new about Zac Posen‘s newest collection of Z Spoke @Lord & Taylor. I’m featuring a gallery of the seven classic dresses that are definitely drool-worthy. The favorite designer of stars like Rihanna & Claire Danes has created timeless looks that are prefect for transitioning from day-to-night. These dresses are office-friendly with a blazer or cardigan, day-ready with ballet flats & a cropped jacket, delightful for a date with stilettos & hoop earrings, & cute for a cocktail party with a sequin clutch & strappy platforms. Although the dresses are just under $200, they’re still inspiring as spring styles are sweeping the red carpet in whimsical waves of a-lines & draping.

Mischa Barton has more misses than hits on the red carpet lately, but after her makeover onVH1’s Style by June, Mischa is making the rounds promoting her debut clothing collection at her store, Mischa’s Place. I was super excited to find images of the merchandise so that I could share it with readers. The collection includes cute dresses, an array of leggings, graphic tees, & structured jackets, perfect for mixing & matching with pieces that you already own. Prices start at $60 & go up from there. Runway Rundown: Alberta Ferretti’s New Limited Edition Collection @Macy’s!
Starting April 17th, shoppers can get their hands on lower-priced styles by Italian designer Alberta Ferretti @Macy’s. She recently told WWD, “The collection I created is fresh and bright, featuring light summer clothing that evokes the spirit of my beautiful country and is at the same time true to my style.” Also, the line is inspired by the breath-taking glamour of the Amalfi coast. So, if you’re headed to Europe this summer & need breezy, bright, & fresh duds to make your trip a most stylish one, check out Ferretti’s collection. Prices range from $49 – $119, but if you know anything about Macy’s, you can always find a coupon & amazing sale to make the purchase all the more budget-friendly!

Ivanka Trump first made her mark in fashion with a jewelry line back in 2007, but the model-turned-businesswoman-turned-designer has launched a new collection with Lord & Taylor. The line features uber-feminine frocks, which draw on Ivanka’s classic taste in designers like Stella McCartney & Ralph Lauren. The prices range $50 – $240, but these certainly serve as inspiration for the new items that will enhance your new spring wardrobe. Runway Rundown / Watch This Style: Fashion Star Designers @Saks, Macy’s, & H&M!
On Tuesday nights, NBC’s Fashion Star airs its 4th episode, featuring designers who market their creations for buyers from Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, & H&M. These designers are under the watchful eyes of mentors Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson, & John Varvatos. The show is hosted by supermodel Elle Macpherson, & allows shoppers to buy the winning looks online after the show, as well as in stores the following day.
Take a look at some of the winning looks, which aren’t all available for purchase anymore, but I love how easy Style Darlings can access these designs right away. Even though I’m a super duper Project Runway addict, this show is happily filling in the fashionable gap for me. Check out the video posted below in case you haven’t seen the show yet!

Ad Madness: Kate Hudson Models For Ann Taylor!
I was super excited to see this new ad campaign for Ann Taylor, starring the one & only Kate Hudson! I’ve been on a major shopping diet, but seeing these new ads makes me very eager to get my hands on some beautiful spring fashions. I love the combination of delicate fabrics with feminine prints, especially with new wedges or strappy sandals. Lace isn’t just for lingerie or evening-wear, as seen in the flirty blouses and sophisticated pencil skirts sold among Ann Taylor’s new collection.

Runway Rundown: Lea Michele Models for Candie’s Newest Ad Campaign!
While flipping through the latest magazines, there are tons of new ad campaigns for the stylish spring collections, including Glee star Lea Michele modeling for Candie’s. I just had to find out about the peep-toe platform high heels ($35.99) in lavender, which are exclusively sold @Kohl’s– yes, just like the ad says! Right now, the shoes are marked down from their original $59.99 price tag. Also, they’re available in a rusty coral & lush purple. You can jump on this deal right now & wear them with a floral spring dress, or keep them for the fall with opaque tights & a sweater dress.

I picked out some of my favorite looks from the line that includes plenty of tops, bottoms, accessories, shoes, & jewelry to help amp up your spring wardrobe.

Runway Rundown / Watch This Style: Mena Suvari Stars in Christian Siriano’s Latest Ad Campaign!
One of my favorite Project Runway designers, Christian Siriano, has cast actress Mena Suvari as his muse in his latest Spring / Summer 2012 ad campaign, featuring ballgowns & nautical-inspired separates. Siriano, whose looks have been worn by starlets like Christina Hendricks, Heidi Klum, & Sarah Hyland, has made a name for himself as an over-the-top ballgown designer, but this collection shows a more tailored & thoughtful side to the Season 4 winner, but bold hues like tangerine and chartreuse show that he’s staying true to his roots. Runway Rundown: Check Out Anne Hathaway’s Latest Campaign for Tod’s!
The newly-engaged star of the upcoming Dark Knight Rises & always fashionable Anne Hathaway has returned to TOD’s for another modeling campaign. She is promoting the line’s spring collection featuring Italian-designed leather goods like handbags & clutches, which are available for a hefty cost at stores like Bluefly, Saks Fifth Avenue, & Nordstrom.
Courtesy of People, we’ve learned “The campaign for TOD’s Signature reaches out to a new and younger clientele… We see a stunningly exquisite Anne as a classic beauty with a modern Italian edge — feminine and strong,” according to the brand’s creative director Fabien Baron.
Hathaway admitted, “I have been a longtime fan of TOD’s and was very excited to be a part of exploring a new side of their identity with the launch of their Signature Collection… The designs are classic and the materials are of the highest quality.“

Runway Rundown / Watch This Style: Rachel Zoe’s 60s-Inspired Pre-Fall Collection + A Video Interview by Neiman Marcus Fashion Director, Ken Downing!
It’s not a secret by now that one of my favorite style icons is the one & only Rachel Zoe! I’ve posted so much about her collections (here & here), as well as honoring her as Style Darling’s very first (& so far only) .com Darling! Also, for my column “A Dash of Fashion” on Culture Mob, I recently wrote about Rachel’s fabulous jewelry collection on sale @QVC!
However, courtesy of In Style, we have some amazing images of Rachel’s latest pre-Fall collection, which includes a lot of 60s-inspiration with her signature 70s / boho chic elegance. Rachel told the magazine, “I am so madly in love with this Pre-Fall collection! I really wanted to add a lot of mod elements to this season, the 60s is truly one of my favorite eras… We also expanded a ton on suiting, which will always be my signature, but we added an amazing new pencil skirt which should be a staple in everyone’s closet. There are definitely still some elements of the ‘70s too and the leathers and faux fur are to die for.”
There’s definitely evidence of inspiration here from icons like Coco Chanel, with the glamorous & tailored suits. Not to mention that the more delicate pieces like mini dresses in soft fabrics & glittery cocktail dresses show off a youthful flair that Rachel is famous for bringing out in clients like Eva Mendes, Anne Hathaway, & Molly Sims.
