Cover Craze: Behind-The-Scenes With Lady Gaga For Vogue’s September 2012 Issue!

When it was announced that Lady Gaga was going to be the face of Vogue‘s September 2012 issue, only the most popular month for the legendary magazine, the fashion world was buzzing with what the pop icon would be wearing.  The singer has been in the news recently b/c she announced the title of her upcoming record, ARTPOP, as well as the fact that troubled actress Lindsay Lohan would be starring in the newest single’s music video.

Not only does Style Darling have a sneak peek of the highly anticipated magazine cover, which will hit stands on August 14th, but we have exclusive video to share with fans of the singer’s, as well as readers of the magazine, which includes some behind-the-scenes footage of the photo shoot! Cover Craze: Single Lady Katie Holmes Sizzles on Elle!

The gossip columns were on overload this past week when actress Katie Holmes announced to the public that she was divorcing husband of five years, Tom Cruise.  However, it’s clear that the world is on Katie’s side, especially since she looks better than ever on the August 2012 cover of Elle & isn’t letting anyone or anything get in the way of her independence. 

That’s to Facebook updates, I learned that the Dawson’s Creek star even made an appearance as a guest judge during a taping last week for the latest season of Project Runway: All Stars. I haven’t received my issue of this magazine yet, but when I saw these images circulating online- clad with blunt bangs, menswear-inspiration, & the long-missed glitz & glamour that the star hasn’t revealed in a long time- I knew I had to share them with readers.  What do you think of this next chapter for Katie? Are you for or against the split?

Cover Craze: Emma Stone Makes Her Vogue Cover Debut!

I’m always a big fan of reading Vogue, the epicenter of fashion when it comes to periodicals, but I don’t very often post about their spreads, even though they’re always super gorgeous.  However, the July issue of the magazine has caught my eye & I can’t get it off my mind.  It-girl Emma Stone makes her debut on the cover, showing off her sultry screen siren side, versus a Mad Hatter-inspired playful menswear look, wearing duds by famous names like Jil Sander, Ralph Lauren, Prada, Versus, Dries Van Noten, & Givenchy by Riccardo Tischi, just to name a few.

The now blonde-tressed actress is in high demand, making the red carpet rounds while promoting The Amazing Spider-Man, opposite rumored beau Andrew Garfield.  Surely, Stone’s red carpet looks are jaw-dropping, but I still can’t get over how the fair-skinned funny girl has transformed into a Style Darling on the rise in the pages of the magazine.

Cover Craze: People Magazine Names Beyoncé Worlds Most Beautiful Woman!

Last year, People annointed Jennifer Lopez Worlds Most Beautiful Woman, but 2012 is all about pop star & new mom Beyoncé, who has earned the coveted title & cover page.  Of course Style Darling loves Beyoncé for her style, music, & all around fabulousness, but to get your fill of the superstar, take a look at the images & even my post in Watch This Style featuring my Top 5 Most Stylish Beyoncé Music Videos! Cover Craze: Miranda Kerr Hits Brooklyn For Harper’s Bazaar!

In the April 2012 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, with actress Mila Kunis on the cover, Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr is featured in a 50s-inspired fashion spread shot in the fine city of Brooklyn by photographer Terry Richardson.  Now I might’ve just flipped through this spread in the past, surmising it up just for the fashion, but now as a full-time writer in Brooklyn (although I’m still commuting home to Long Island), I can appreciate the beauty behind the city that has taught me more about all the reasons why I love the suburbs! Yes, I said it!

However, I think this is an amazing shoot, especially with the regal & vintage designs of Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta, Derek Lam, Donna Karan, Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, Elizabeth & James, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, & Prada (just to name a few). There’s so much high fashion going on here, Miranda puts the women of Mad Men to shame! She looks like an even more glamorous mix between Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Grace Kelly! Not to mention that below the gallery here is an exclusive video behind the shoot, which was inspired by 1960s Italian actress, Monica Vitti.

I used to obsessively tear out the pages of my favorite fashion magazines to keep in what I like to call an “inspiration book” to help me put outfits together, get motivated to blog, or for that one day way way waaaay in the future when I’d dabble in my own desiging, but instead of collecting the stacks of paper in a super heavy binder, I’ve decided to post them for my readers.
