Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: No-Sweat Sale Prices on Sweaters @LOFT!

Thankfully, the weather in New York has been pretty mild this winter, but I know I’m a little sad since I haven’t been able to go all-out winterized with my wardrobe.  However, the bright side is that some of my favorite stores has really amazing & classic sweaters on sale now, especially since they’re clearing out their racks in preparation for spring.

Right now @LOFT, there are some especially affordable deals on clearance items for women, petites, maternity apparel, & accessories. I picked out these 3 cozy sweaters that caught my eye & are perfect for pairing with dark wash skinny jeans & riding boots- just a suggestion!

The cowl neck long sleeve sweater ($12.88), my favorite of the trio, is available in black, camel, gray, & cream. The shoulder zip cable knit sweater ($12.88) is perfect for layering over a tee, tank, or with this season’s best trend: boldly colored jeans!  If you’re a fan of stripes, then check out the very Americana stripe cozy cable v-neck sweater ($12.88) for a weekend getaway ski trip or B&B runaway.

Where are you looking to find great end-of-the-season clearance deals? What’s your must-have item right now? Happy Styling!

Super Style Wishlist: The Top 10 Wedges From Neiman Marcus!

I’ve been flipping through the pages of all my favorite magazines, falling madly in love with all the latest spring styles.  I’m most excited about the new spring shoes that are coming out & since Fashion Week, I’ve been keeping an eye out on all of the best luxury brands.  My go-to store for such labels is Neiman Marcus.  Low & behold, when I was searching through their shoe selection, they showed a to-die-for Top 10 Best Wedges portion to their online store & I just had to share it with my readers!

The stylish selections includes designs by Rachel Zoe, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, Ash, Christian Louboutin, Prada, TOMS, Tory Burch, Gucci, & Manolo Blahnik.  If you hover your mouse over the image, you’ll see the expensive prices on these shoes, which ranges from $138.00 to $965.00! Watch This Style: Lipstick Jungle Has Been On My Mind!

There aren’t very many short-lived television shows that stick with me, but without a doubt, Lipstick Jungle is one of them & I’m so happy to have dvds of both seasons, but I still want more from the show that is no longer on the air (boo NBC!).  However, I was lucky to come across some style inspiration in the form of this video with a behind-the-scenes look at the styles worn by characters Nico, Wendy, & Victory, played respectively by Kim Raver, Brooke Shields, & Lindsay Price.  Who was your favorite on the show? Which were your favorite scenes? Could Nico’s romance with Kirby get any hotter?! If only!

For more on the long, lost but not forgotten show, check out my previous post here.  Take a look at the video below & share it with your fellow Style Darlings! Happy Styling!

The Stylish Five: Top Sale Picks @Zara ($20 & Under)!

While I was in Italy, I was finally to step inside a Zara store, which was having a big, big sale.  Although I didn’t end up buying anything, I couldn’t get the stores super affordable prices & fabulous styles out of my head.

I decided to take a look at the sale items with U.S. dollars & found these five pieces that can seriously upgrade your wardrobe & they all cost under $20!

Anytime there’s a sale on shoes, you know I’m all over it.  I love the sandals with snake skin straps ($19.99), which are perfect for any LBD look & can easily transition a work look to happy hour.  The black mini skirt ($14.99) is extra special with the zipper detail, especially when worn with ankle boots & an oversized t-shirt.  If you’re looking to change up your work attire, try a striped poplin shirt ($19.99) instead of wearing the usual white button down.

Even though new year’s celebrations are over, there’s no reason why we can’t still wear some sparkle & metallics.  For example, the straight mini skirt ($19.99) is just the pop of color to wear with luxe neutrals, floral prints, & Parisian stripes.  Speaking of… the striped t-shirt ($14.99) mixes a classic pattern with a glamorous texture, especially when worn with leggings, skinny pants, or jeans.

Inside A Style Blogger’s Closet: Girl’s Night Out Look!

Tonight marks my first official girl’s night out for 2012, not including the all-around female-friendly fun that was had while I was overseas. I was having some trouble trying to find a fun, but comfortable outfit for the evening.  I believe I’m technically the only single girl of the group (I think), so looking super fabulous is the only option.

During a recent shopping spree, I came across some amazing deals on must-have pieces, including the Merona easy care easy wear wrap top ($16.99) from Target, which was marked down to $11.00 on clearance at my local store.  I had a $3.00 off coupon for any top from this brand, so it came to around $8.00! If I had to pick a favorite animal print, zebra would absolutely be it, especially since I’m a sucker for black & white.

To my surprise when I wasn’t even expecting to find anything affordable for me @White House Black Market, I took a chance on the sleek boot cut corduroy pant ($29.99), which were also marked down in the store to $19.99! What was even greater is that since I wear pants in shorter sizes, I actually found my size & the fit was beyond perfect!  Since I’m signed up to receive catalogues from the store, I also had a coupon & ended up getting great deals on four other amazing items!

Black & white items are my go-to for outings & I couldn’t be happier at the bargains that I found.  Pictures to come soon! Happy Styling!

Red Carpet Review: The Best & Wild Looks From The 2012 Grammys Red Carpet!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

During this week’s Grammy ceremony, there were dozens of tributes to the recently passed Whitney Houston, but also the artists were showing off their full-fledged glamour while celebrating the evening’s festivities.  Some of my favorites include Taylor Swift, Adele, & Jessie J, all in shimmering metallics & sparkling elegance.  Of course, there were a few flops like Fergie & Nicki Minaj, but every red carpet has their risk-takers.  Take a look at the gallery below & share your thoughts on all the couture craziness! Happy Styling!

Red Carpet Review: A Stylish Look Back To The Best Of The Grammys!

Tonight’s red carpet arrivals are happening right now for the 54th Grammy awards, but I thought that while that was underway, I’d post a little gallery featuring some of my favorite looks from ceremonies past.  Of course these images come from In Style, but I was so inspired & wanted to share them with my Style Darlings.  The list includes red carpet regulars like Taylor Swift, Gwen Stefani, & Fergie, among others! Whose look do you like the best? Who are you looking forward to seeing this year? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Celebrating Whitney Houston’s Music Has Never Been More Stylish!

Sadly, last night singer / actress Whitney Houston died.  As soon as I heard the news, I did a quick write-up for Movie Buzzers & rediscovered the impact that she’s had on where pop music is today.

In tribute of her memory, I’m featuring five of my favorite & most stylish Whitney moments of performances & music videos, much like I’ve done in the past for Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, & Lady Gaga.

Some of my personal favorites include “I Will Always Love You,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” & “I’m Every Woman.”

Be sure to keep an eye on for more celebration of Whitney, one of the greatest voices in the last century, during tonight’s Grammy awards ceremony, for which I will be covering in my Red Carpet Review. Happy Styling!

Inside A Style Blogger’s Closet: Black & White & Style All Over!

During a recent shopping excursion at the old stomping grounds, New York & Company, I had a coupon in hand & some new spring looks to buy.  Of course, I was conscientious of the price tags since I didn’t wanna totally break the bank.  However, when I saw the black & white ponte colorblock sheath dress ($59.95) & the black & grey sateen circle pattern skirt ($46.95), my heart skipped a beat & I had to make them mine.  Of course, I was the happy recipient of a mega $60 off your $125 purchase coupon, so I was on a mission.  Also, most of the current spring merchandise was on sale BOGO 50% off, there were clearance belts for as low as $2.99, & all hosiery was on sale 50% off.  The bargains were certainly on my side!

I love the mod look of both items & their neutral palette lends itself to special pops of color with accessories or complimenting pieces when creating an outfit.  Not only did I leave the store saving more cash than I spent, I also received a survey invitation at the bottom of my receipt in which I’ve already participated & have received an addition coupon for some great savings in the future.

Hopefully when I have a chance to wear these pieces, I can photograph them & share with my readers.  The dress is super slimming & reminds me a little bit of the cute little blue uniforms that the flight attendants wear on Pan Am.

Where have you shopped for the latest spring styles?  What pieces are you looking for to spruce up your wardrobe for next season?  Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Sofia Coppola Directs Marni For H&M!

I promise, I promise, I will start posting some shopping tips & great style deals once again very soon! However, I keep finding all these great videos to post about, including the Sofia Coppola-directed commercial for Marni‘s upcoming collaboration with H&M, which hits stores March 8th. The video stars actress Imogen Poots, and the song “Avalon” by Bryan Ferry.  In addition, I found a behind-the-scenes video which features commentary from Marni founder & creative director, Consuelo Castiglioni.

Also, be sure to check out my latest column for Culture Mob on A Dash of Fashion about Marni’s collaboration with H&M! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Full Pilot Episode of “Smash!”

I’m loving watching the pilot episode of Smash, starring Katharine McPhee as an aspiring Broadway actress.  She’s one of my favorite American Idol finalists & I couldn’t wait to see how she was going to handle such a demanding role on the new NBC musical drama.  The show focuses on the upstart of a new musical about the life of Marilyn Monroe (of course, you know I’m all over this!) & I found a link on YouTube of the full pilot episode.  If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at the video below! Also, I’ve included the video for Katharine McPhee singing Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful.” Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Romantic Flats from Forever 21, Inspired By Fine Italian Designs!

I wanted to share some of my favorite images from my shopping adventures during my most recent trip to Italy.  I went on a tour to the beautiful city of Montepulciano (& visited the amazing Bindella winery), & during my afternoon stroll throughout the city, I found a cute little leather goods store which sold shoes, bags, belts, & other fine quality Italian merchandise.  Among such splendors of style, I took pictures of these flats.  I loved the jewel & feather details, as well as their feminine round toe and cap toe shapes.

I was shopping around on some of my favorite websites of American stores & naturally, I found myself visiting Forever 21.  Then, I came across these two pairs of flats, which brought my right back to that little shop in Montepulciano.  The faceted rhinestone flats in black ($17.80) & embellished rhinestone flats ($17.80) may not be made of real leather, but the price tag is very budget-friendly.

I’ve been wearing a lot of ballet flats recently since I suffered a minor ankle injury during my travels, so naturally I’ve been trying to make them work in the most flattering way possible for my wardrobe.  For more fashionable posts on flats, check out what I’ve found from Charlotte Russe, Nine West, & Topshop! Happy Styling!

Super Style Wishlist: Italy & Miu Miu & Black & White… Oh My!

During my recent trip to Italy, I passed two different Miu Miu storefronts, one in Florence & another in Venice.  The brand has been on my mind lately, especially after seeing the gorgeous window displays of the luxury designs, as well as seeing an image of Oscar nominee, Rooney Mara, at a recent press event in Berlin, promoting her career-making film, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, wearing a Miu Miu design.

However, I wanted to check out some of the latest styles from the brand & fell in love with these black patent leather t-strap platform pumps ($1981.00) available @Bluefly.  They’ve been reduced in price from their original $2467.00 tag, but are still a little out of reach for me.

Black & white never goes out of the style & even though I don’t own or wear t-strap shoes, I can see these perfectly paired with a number of different looks.  While the weather is a little chilly, the patent leather would pop against an opague tight with an art deco-inspired sheath dress.  Also, these are darling for a cocktail party in a halter dress, or even for a more polished affair with a pencil skirt & cardigan- very sexy librarian!

Do you have your eye on a Miu Miu piece? Do you like t-strap shoes? What would you wear these with? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style / Fashion Flashback: Blake Lively Takes On Marilyn Monroe In This Week’s Gossip Girl!

During this week’s episode of Gossip Girl, the show celebrated its 100th episode of upper East side luxury with a tribute to Marilyn Monroe‘s famous song “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.”  Serena, played by Blake Lively, starred in her own dream sequence, recreating the dance number, featuring the male cast, as well as a cameo from Blair herself, played by Leighton Meester, paying tribute to the more demure & classic style icon, Audrey Hepburn.  It took a few days for me to finally find a video of the scene, but I have it here for my Style Darlings.  Also, if you’d like to compare it to the original, there’s also video of Marilyn’s version, something every gal should see! Happy Styling!

Runway Rundown / Watch This Style: Mena Suvari Stars in Christian Siriano’s Latest Ad Campaign!

One of my favorite Project Runway designers, Christian Siriano, has cast actress Mena Suvari as his muse in his latest Spring / Summer 2012 ad campaign, featuring ballgowns & nautical-inspired separates.  Siriano, whose looks have been worn by starlets like Christina Hendricks, Heidi Klum, & Sarah Hyland, has made a name for himself as an over-the-top ballgown designer, but this collection shows a more tailored & thoughtful side to the Season 4 winner, but bold hues like tangerine and chartreuse show that he’s staying true to his roots.  Check out the images below, as well the short film, featuring the colorful & flowy chiffon designs! Happy Styling!

Red Carpet Review: 2012 SAG Awards in Black, Sparkles, & Lace!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The 2012 awards season is in full swing & the red carpet at last night’s Screen Actor’s Guild ceremony showed off lots of black, sparkles, & lace in different styles.  Also, a big trend of the night was bold color, as seen on Sofia Vergara, Jessica Chastain, & Kyra Sedwick.  Some of my personal favorites include Emma Stone (a continuous hit on the red carpet), Michelle Williams, Rose Byrne, & Ariel Winter! Share your thoughts on who wore what well & what you think they were thinking?! Happy Styling!

Red Carpet Review: A Glamorous 2012 Golden Globes Gallery!

Better late than never! I’m watching the SAG Awards now & figured I’d get my butt moving on posting a gallery of all the glamour from this year’s Golden Globe awards, which took place while I was busy writing my heart out abroad.  My favorites include Jessica Alba, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, & Paula Patton! Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Starting Off 2012 In Style & On The Right Foot!

Dear Style Darling Readers, My endless apologies for my nearly month-long absence, but due to my amazing trip to Italy & subsequent illness that sidelined me for a whole week after my return, I’d like to make January count for something on here, so let’s talk about shoes!

Since I’ve been in bed, ignoring all email alerts for sales on the latest spring styles, my first stop (once I peeled myself out of misery & a layer of tissues) was Payless.  I was happy to find the La Femme pumps ($32.99) by Christian Siriano, my very favorite winner of Project Runway.

Not only are they perfect for transitioning your winter / fall wardrobe, but the price is pretty awesome too! Right now, Payless is offering their fabulous Buy One, Get One 50% off sale, so spending $33 on a pair of pumps isn’t such a bad deal.

Of course, this isn’t the first time I’m talking about classic black pumps or sleek nude patent pumps, but these will really never go out of style!  They’re perfect for pairing with something a little wild, or even if you’d like to keep your look streamlined & professional. For more shoe-related posts, check out the sales @Nine West, how to get green for 2012, & rich rust heels from Lulu’s! Happy Styling!

Inside A Style Blogger’s Closet: Ciao Style Darlings, From Italia!

Ciao Style Darlings! My time in Italy is coming to an end, but I wanted to share a little something from my trip.

A few days ago the weather was particularly gorgeous, for it being January & all, so I took a stroll along the Arno river, wearing my favorite sweater dress with cable knit panel ($22.50) in green.  Also, I’ve been leaving my footprint all over Florence in my boots from Payless.

Additional favorites include my leggings from Target, as well as flats boots & another sweater tunic.

I should also mention that I’ve made a few trips to the local H&M, finding such affordable fashions, including a green short-sleeved dress. As it turns out the conversion from Euros to U.S. currency wasn’t pro-budget, but there were dozens of other sale items that I’m bringing back with me from the international retailer.

Tomorrow (Saturday) is my travel day, & then I’ll be waking up on Sunday back on Long Island, reacquainting myself with all the shoes in my closet that I’ve been missing.

Hope everyone’s having a stylish 2012 so far! Ciao! Happy Styling!

The Stylish Five: Pretty Hues For Your Peepers ($10 & Under)!

I can’t even remember the last time I bought eyeshadow (perhaps b/c I have sooo much of it), but every now & again, it’s always a good idea to refresh your collection with some new hues.  Here are some of my affordable suggestions, all for under $10 @Ulta.

The Almay Intense I-Color Satin Eyeshadow in Greens ($6.99) is a palette perfect for any eye color & the chic blend of green & purple will make the lighter flecks of color really stand out.  The Prestige Cosmetics Eyeshadow Duo in Morada ($2.39) is a great way to reinvent the smoky eye, especially in such rich purple hues.  This affordable duo also comes in combinations of neutrals, pinks, & blues.  My favorite everyday eye shadow is Revlon’s 12 Hour Eyeshadow Quad in Nude Elements ($3.29) b/c its neutral for daytime, but still smoldering when blended with the darker hues for a date night.  To perk up your peepers with cream instead of powder, try Revlon’s Illuminance Creme Shadow in Black Magic ($5.99) will take away any evidence of your previously night’s party.  For those Style Darlings that really like to sparkle, NYX’s Glitter Cream Palette in Ocean Breeze ($5.99) gives you five different & vibrant options in one package!  This also comes in combinations of golds, silver, purples, & bronze shades!

What’s your favorite makeup brand?  Are you an Ulta shopper?  How do you usually do your eye makeup this time of year?  Happy Styling!

Runway Rundown: Check Out Anne Hathaway’s Latest Campaign for Tod’s!

The newly-engaged star of the upcoming Dark Knight Rises & always fashionable Anne Hathaway has returned to TOD’s for another modeling campaign. She is promoting the line’s spring collection featuring Italian-designed leather goods like handbags & clutches, which are available for a hefty cost at stores like Bluefly, Saks Fifth Avenue, & Nordstrom.

Courtesy of People, we’ve learned “The campaign for TOD’s Signature reaches out to a new and younger clientele… We see a stunningly exquisite Anne as a classic beauty with a modern Italian edge — feminine and strong,” according to the brand’s creative director Fabien Baron.

Hathaway admitted, “I have been a longtime fan of TOD’s and was very excited to be a part of exploring a new side of their identity with the launch of their Signature Collection… The designs are classic and the materials are of the highest quality.

Keep an eye for pages of the spread in upcoming weeks of your favorite fashion magazines!  Happy Styling!

Basics for a Bargain: Best Black Jackets For Day & Night (Dedicated to Laurie)!

During a recent breakfast date with my uber-stylish friend Laurie, the subject of blazers came up since she’s in search of a jacket with enough flair to dress up a going out look, but one that can also be worn for a daytime casual look.  Because a black blazer is such an essential item, I thought I’d turn to some of my favorite celebrities for some inspiration on the different styles of blazers for a number of different occasions.

First off, we have Olivia Palermo in a velvet Giambattista Valli mini dress with brogues from Zara & a Mango clutch.  She tops her look with a button-embellished jacket for a more polish at a Macy’s event.  Fergie attended an affair for Black Eyed Peas in a feathered & gold skirt with a satin-trim blazer & Christian Louboutins.  Rachel Weisz paired her velvet jacket with leather leggings at the DVD launch for Deep Blue Sea.  At the premiere of Sandra Bullock‘s latest film, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, the Oscar-winner donned an Alexander McQueen suit with a plunging jacket & corset-inspired belt.  Jessica Alba went out for a stroll in West Hollywood, pairing a single-button jacket with a high-neck white dress & black tights.  Lastly, Kristen Bell played down her cropped pink trousers with a Rachel Zoe tuxedo jacket & satin pointy toe pumps.

When looking for a blazer that works for you, there are a lot of factors to take into account like fit around the waist, where the sleeves fall, & details like trim & structure.  Since jackets are investment pieces, these bargains are a little higher in price, but totally worth it if you find one that works best for your shape.  I picked out a variety of jacket suggestions to be worn casually with shorts & tights, with your favorite dark denim jeans & a button-down top, over an LBD, or over a sequin cocktail dress.

The classic two-button blazer ($59.99) from Gap ranges in sizes 0 – 20 & has been marked down from its original $98.00 price tag.  There’s plenty of room here to add a fancy antique brooch if it looks too office-ready for a going out ook.  If you’re looking for something with some built-in personality, try the zebra stripe textured blazer ($32.80) from Forever 21.  A dressy option for a jacket comes from JC Penney, the MNG by Mango tuxedo jacket with satin trim ($60.00) is just enough to wear over a blouse or with a jersey dress & metallic belt.  If details like buttons are your thing, the H&M blazer ($59.95) is not just available in black, but also light pink & bright blue.  A classic single-button stretch jacket ($48.96) like the one from New York & Company adds confidence to a t-shirt & jeans look, especially with knee boots & hoop earrings.  Lastly, I remembered my recent post about Kmart’s Sofia by Sofia Vergara collection & the velvet tuxedo blazer ($31.99) came to mind, especially if worn with a slinky cami & skinny pants.

For more Basics for a Bargain looks, check out scarves inspired by Claire Danes & Rihanna, tees & leather like Miranda Kerr, & look-alike sweater dresses to those worn by Nicole Richie & Eva Mendes! How do you wear your favorite blazers? Where are your favorite places to shop for blazers? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: My Five Favorite Lady Gaga Videos / Performances!

Lady Gaga is a commited artist when it comes to her music, performances, & costumes.  In recent months, she’s been showing off her softer side in high-end designs by Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Versace, Michael Kors, & Salvatore Ferragamo.  I think it’s time to feature some of my favorite Lady Gaga style moments, whether they’re music videos, or videos of live performances.  What are your favorites?  Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Fierce Tights From Fred Flare!

I realize that I’ve posted lots about tights & stockings, but if you didn’t gasp with adoration for these fashionable leg coverings, then you’re not really a Style Darling! One of my favorite ways to style a dress / skirt look this season is with tights & tights with texture, design, pattern, or delicate details are no exception to this.

While casually clicking around the Fred Flare website, I found these two pairs of tights on sale & I’m two minutes away from breaking out my wallet to buy them online, but I know I’m on a super crazy budget since I’m leaving for Italy on Wednesday.

The polka dot New York tights ($19.99) have been marked down from $30.00 & would instantly make any LBD look a little more flirty & playful.  Also, I’d even wear these to the office with something simple like suede pumps & a black cardigan.

The midnight garden party tights ($9.99) have also been reduced from their original $15.00 price tag & would transform a sheath dress from sexy to super deadly.  The mixture of something so feminine as lace against edgier fabrics like leather or metal embellishments can bring your outfit to a whole new level.

For more posts & advice on tights, check out clearance deals @Torrid, Vera Wang tights @Kohl’s, & my mod look from Halloween! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: ‘It’s A Brad, Brad World’ (on Bravo) & We Just Live In It!

It’s not very often that I feature style for guys on here, but if there’s one stylist & budding style icon to watch out for, it’s Brad Goreski, former assistant to super stylist & designer, Rachel Zoe.  When I first learned that Brad left Rachel’s side, I was a little heartbroken, but Bravo quickly picked up the hilarious personality for his very own reality show, which airs on Monday nights.  The first episode aired this week & I absolutely loved it & wanted to share my love all of things style with readers, including this little red carpet clip of Brad talking about what to expect on the series’ first season!  His celebrity clients (so far) include Jessica Alba & Keri Hilson, but I’m sure there’ll be more on horizon as he makes a bigger name for himself away from the shadow of the all-powerful & mighty Rachel Zoe.  Brad’s adorable, well-dressed, & a very hard-working stylist, making his way up the style ladder & I really want him to be my GBFF!  Show your support by checking out the video below, courtesy of YouTube, & check your local listings for when the show airs! Happy Styling!
