Splurge Or Save… On A Lace Sweatshirt?

Even though I’m stuck in the thick of winter, along with the rest of the east coast, I’m still looking ahead to spring for some style inspiration. One of the favorite trends that started coming up during the winter & is making its way into stylish spring wardrobes in the lace sweatshirt. The feminine combination of elegance & casual makes for a fabulous way to reinterpret what it means to be chic. This is an essential separate for a casual Friday at the office, which can also be turned into a night our piece with leather leggings & ankle boots or skinny jeans & stilettos.

Keeping a budget in mind for any Style Darling shopping the sale rack, I wanted to direct your attention to a pair of lace sweatshirts, in different price ranges.

lace sweatshirtsThe lace sweatshirt ($110.00) to the left is from White House Black Market, & while it will make an investment in quality craftsmanship, it’s not exactly budget-friendly. However, on the right, the floral lace front tee ($44.50) @LOFT, which is a lightweight option, but still shares the same idea. To maintain the classy look of this shirt, mix these up with various accessories, like a string of pearls, stud earrings, & a headband, especially with modern bottoms like distressed jeans & ballet flats, menswear-inspired trousers & studded boots, or cigarette pants & ankle strap platforms.

What trends are you looking forward to this spring? What looks caught your eye during New York Fashion Week? Which pieces are your favorites to mix & match? Other more affordable shopping options include sweatshirts from Delia’s, Macy’s, Bluefly, & Kohl’s. Happy Styling!

Show Me The Shoes / Color Me Style: Mint Is Back For Spring!

During this spring break, I’ve had plenty of time studying the latest spring trends & aside from bold bright, you can find plenty of pastels, including mint shoes that will make any outfit look fresh & spring-ready. After a recent conversation with an engaged friend about the difference between turquoise & teal for her upcoming nuptials, I was inspired to share the color mint. Of course this hue can be seen on dresses, blouses, pants, & accessories, but more importantly, I’m loving the idea of mint shoes, especially since there are so many affordable shoes.

mint shoesAdd mint to your flats collection with the Merona Macha wedge ballet flat ($19.50) from Target, which have a classic faux snake texture with any effortless tee & skinny jeans. Also, the canvas Bella skimmer ($19.50) from Delia’s offers a lighter material to contrast with a neutral leather mini & sleeveless button-down. If you’re headed to a tropical location on vacation before summer, the Steve Madden Swinger sandals ($49.95) is perfect for a maxi dress & stacked bangles, a cotton spring dress with a beaded necklace, or with walking shorts & a silky blouse.

This wouldn’t a proper shoe post if I didn’t talk about some major budget-friendly heels, like the patent cap toe platform pump ($32.50) from Charlotte Russe, which transitions the cap toe trend perfectly between seasons. The GOjane peep toe platform wedges ($24.95) are edgy for a look with leggings & a tunic top, & they’re on sale right now! Next, bring mint to the office with the Fioni Jordyn t-strap pumps ($26.99) from Payless coordinated with a floral sheath dress & a cardigan, or for happy hour with a polka dot blouse & pencil skirt.

The peep toe platform wedge ($32.80) from Forever 21 is chic for a weekend getaway in a chambray dress or with neutral separates like a beige cami with silky pajama-inspired pants. Lastly, DSW‘s Fergalicious Eileen pump ($39.95) is definitely a must-have for a date night in a shift dress or can dress up any outfit like a mini leather skirt & graphic tee if you’re headed to a concert.

Which style is your favorite? Do you like the mint shoe trend? What colors are your mist attracted to this fall? Holiday Gift Styles: Pre-Black Friday BOGO FREE Jeans Deal From Delia’s!

Delia’s isn’t really a store meant for my demographic, I get that, but I can’t help but love the adorable styles that are perfect for a casual day of cuteness.  What’s better is the latest in-store only BOGO FREE jeans sale (excluding jeggings) currently going on @Delias today. Of course the store runs in juniors sizes from 00-19/20, which is perfect for my curvy Style Darlings too! Since the sale is just too good to miss, bring a gal pal with you shopping so you can both benefit from the offer!

With this sale, you can jump on board the latest trends in denim including colored jeans, neon, metallic, & prints.  I recommend the Britt low-rise skinny color jean ($39.50) in red, which are also available in deep purple, electric blue, & geranium.  Also, the peach floral skinny jean ($39.50) which will immediately soften any heavy, chunky knit that you’re sporting to keep warm.  Work that 80s flair in the Britt low-rise skinny jean ($39.50) in safety yellow, which are also available to brighten up your look in coral & coral blast. Lastly, you can keep those basics like a black tee or white button-down handy to help neutralize the eye-catching gold coated skinny jean ($39.50), especially if you want to start putting together a potential New Year’s Eve look with separates.

Christmas Day Sales: End of the Season Clearance @Delia’s Up To 80% Off!

I don’t usually shop @Delia’s, but I received an email today about the big end of the season clearance sale of items up to 80% off!  I know the juniors’ retailer has limited sizes & the store is geared toward younger shoppers, but there are so really great deals going on here, especially on accessories  shoes that any Style Darling can benefit from!  I included a few of my favorite picks, which cover all styles from girly to edgy to sporty to vixen.

Take a look at the Madden Girl ‘Cluelezz’ Mary Jane heels ($29.99), which are sure to make any skirt suit look a little more youthful & add a retro feel to a red satin sheath dress.  A big comfy cardigan like the ‘Mira’ cardigan ($9.99) in red is perfect for this time of year, especially when you want to get the most out of some summer pieces like a black jersey dress with sweater tights & combat boots.  For those of you who love graphic tees, well the playful boy recycler tee ($5.99) is a fun way of adding some personality to a basic jeans & jacket look. Also, another top that struck my attention is the solid crochet tank ($19.99) in charcoal.  It’s soft enough to help make pieces like a sequined mini skirt look a little more day appropriate.

I love the glitter skimmers ($14.99) which are the perfect way to give your feet a break at an after-work event where you still wanna look dressy in a button-down shirt & bubble skirt.  Also, for those who are more into the rugged pieces of the season, check out the boots ($24.99), which are available in both black & brown.  Lastly, the accessory piece that’s a must for any Style Darling is the skinny leopard belt ($9.99), an essential to wear over a solid cardigan when you’re looking to add a little splash of personality. Happy Holidays & Happy Styling!
