Beauty Buys: Forever 21’s Affordable Stocking Stuffers For A Beautiful 2013!

I’ve been taking my time sifting through the pages of all my favorite issues of the December magazines, checking out the best deals on gifts for my Style Darling pals without breaking my budget, while still offering something fun & useful to make 2013 all the more beautiful.  If you’re in a rut & need to pick up a few fashionable extras while scoping out the great deals @Forever 21, check out their beauty products, which are always a great way to discover new hues & change up your routine. I picked out the love & beauty eyeshadow ($2.80) in beige, jade, & gunmetal since they’re perfect for any look & season. To apply these shimmering shades, I’ve also selected the cheetah pattern cosmetic brushes ($3.80), which comes with 5 valuable pieces for bringing out your best features.

Switch up the usual cosmetic must-haves & add some bling inside your bag with the rhinestoned mirror compact & tweezer set ($5.80).  You’ll love applying the essential hues for day, night, & parties in the lip gloss trio ($4.80) which is available in four different combinations, including rose/cherry, red/berry, pink/hot pink, & natural/bronze for every skin tone.  Take advantage of the bold nail art trend hitting Instagram with the color tip nail kit ($8.80) with 8 matte shades, necessary for any polish collection.

Beauty Buys: Hurricane Sandy Can’t Stop Your Nails From Sparkling!

Local schools, universities, offices, & transit is already cancelled for tomorrow, while we’re waiting for this hurricane to make a mess out of the Northeast (for those of you who don’t know, Style Darling is based out of New York’s very suburban Long Island).  I figured I’d get a jump on posting blogs for my lucky readers to indulge in since they’ll have power & alas, I won’t.

My family has stocked up on water, ice, batteries, & clock radios, but I’m not worried about how I will spend my time should the power go out.  Of course, I wouldn’t dream of recommending to anyone that polishing your nails is an essential part of hurricane survival, but here’s a little advice for when the daylight in upon us & there’s not much to do when the television & internet is down.

I’ve been keeping an eye out on the latest trends in nail art, especially since that’s the fashion-related hashtag read around the world. No matter where you live, what language you speak, or what your style is, there’s nail art for everyone. I’m a big fan of sparkles, especially this season & I don’t have time to change my nail color daily. I’m no basic pink-fingered Style Darling, but I like something that can be re-touched without any hassle… which brings me to the Gem Crush collection by Sally Hansen ($6.99) from Ulta.

You can find Sally Hansen at any drug store (Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, as well as Target or Walmart), but I love shopping for any & all beauty products at Ulta since I’m a member & receive tons of weekly coupons ranging from $3.50 off a $10 purchase, $5 off a $10 purchase, or 20% off any item.

The Gem Crush line includes dazzling hues like (from left-to-right, as seen above) Show Girl Chic, Cha-Ching, Big Money, Bling-tastic, Be-Jeweled, Razzle Dazzler, Lady Luck, & Glitz Gal. I haven’t picked a favorite, but if you were wondering, I’m currently sporting Big Money on my fingers & Razzle Dazzler on my toes! Ad Madness / Watch This Style: Scarlett Johansson’s Latest For Dolce & Gabbana Cosmetics!

When you look like Tony-winner Scarlett Johansson, I guess you don’t need much to look like a gorgeous model. For Dolce & Gabbana‘s latest campaign, the actress is lending her sensual pout & old Hollywood beauty to the brand’s cosmetics line, promoting the Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation ($59.00) available @Saks Fifth Avenue.

Check out the video (commercial, maybe?) for the newest make up product, featuring beautiful shots of Italy & a snuggling Scarlett wrapped in sheets.  What do you think of cosmetic ad campaigns? Do you think this is too much? What do you think of Scarlett returning as a spokesmodel for the brand?
