Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Classic & Affordable Style by Jennifer Lopez @Kohl’s!

Spring is the time of year when you break out a chic dress.  Of course, you have your choice of fabulous print & bold patterns, but a solid sheath dress is always a classic choice, especially when it’s affordable.  Jennifer Lopez isn’t slowing down as a judge on American Idol, singer, actress, or fashion designer.  Her line @Kohl’s is thriving & one of my favorite pieces is the ponte sheath dress ($39.00), which features modern details like asymmetrical seams, a high cowl neck, & offset front pocket. Also, this fashionable frock is currently marked down from its original $60.00 price tag!

The lightweight fabric will move with you, but it’s also perfect for accessorizing if you want to wear it with a cardigan, thick belt, boyfriend blazer, or patterned tights.  Not to mention that right now, LWDs (little white dresses) & rich hues like royal blue are totally on-trend right now. For more stylish steals, check out previous posts in Quickie Darling Deal & Steal like earrings from Bebe, BOGO shoes @Charlotte Russe, & suede platforms @Payless. Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Stylish Earrings From Bebe!

If you’re looking to invest in some beautiful accessories to wear any time of the year, then you need to check out the earrings @Bebe.  I haven’t browsed through the website in quite some time, but I was thrilled to see these drop & stud earrings, perfect to wear for cocktail parties, going out with the girls, for a date night, & for a family party.

I have talked about affordable accessories from store like Forever 21, Target, Payless, H&M, & Kohl’s, which I will continue to endorse, however these are perfectly stylish designs for the earring lover in all of us, even though they run in price between $22.00 – $34.00. If you’re looking for unique designs to bring out some of your wardrobe staples, then I recommend the Multi Tiered Ombre Crystal Earrings ($34.00), Crystal Cluster Leaf Stud ($24.00), Multi Tier Diamond Duster Earring ($22.00), & Teardrop & Faceted Stone Earring ($24.00). Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: BOGO $12.50 Shoes @Charlotte Russe!

@Charlotte Russe, there’s a fabulous sale going on right now for shoes.  You can get nearly any style BOGO $12.50, & my favorites include these two pairs of fabulous & feminine peep toe pumps.  The patent bow peep toe pump ($30.00) is perfect to add with your favorite shirt dress, date night look, or little black dress.  Also, the pop-up bow velvet pump ($39.50) is a sexier evening pump, perfect for nearly any time of the year with a cocktail dress or a stylish separates look with a brocade mini skirt & polka dot blouse.

I’m always an advocate of shoe sales, which is why I’ve created this post, in addition to other recent write-ups on footwear including suede platform sandals from Payless, a latest design by Sofia Vergara for KMart, & starry flats from ALDO! Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Spring Styles & Lovely Lace From ModCloth!

I haven’t visited the ModCloth site in a quite a long time, but I was happy to find some of the latest sale items, featuring all sorts of lace details.  I’ve always loved lace b/c even just a swatch on a collar or trim on a skirt, makes for an especially garment.

After perusing through some of affordable deals that are selling out quick, these are some of my favorites! The Critical Moss Top by Jack by BB Dakota ($22.99) is perfect to pair with jeans to make a daytime look a little more polished.  This is one sweatshirt that won’t ever go out of style & will make your lazy day look all the more trendy.

The Pleat Me For Dinner Skirt ($29.99) is a fun way to wear lace b/c of its polka dot pattern & slimming waistband.  This is work appropriate with a high neck blouse & bright blazer.

If you’re looking for a vintage-inspired cocktail dress straight off the set of Mad Men, take a look at the Rock Show Royalty Dress ($39.99).  This is a classic with a twist choice, especially with black opaque tights & round toe pumps. The sexy front slit & button details are unexpected, making this a go-to staple for any season. Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Grab BOGO Deals With Suede Platform Sandals from Payless!

Not that long ago, I featured some of the ads from the recent Candie’s for Kohl’s campaign starring Glee‘s Lea Michele in colorful suede platform sandals.  Well, it appears that Payless is on board with the trend with these Jupiter platform sandals ($29.99) by Brash. Right now, Payless is celebrating spring with a limited time BOGO 50% off sale, so this deal is even better than the one @Kohl’s.  Of course, you have your pick of colors, especially since Payless is offering the stylish sandals in tan, black, coral, & purple / pink.  These are the perfect addition to make your LBD a little more flirty, a pencil skirt more playful, & akinny jeans ready for a night out on the town.

Don’t forget that when you order shoes online from Payless, if you have them shipped to your local store, shipping is FREE! That sounds like a pretty awesome deal if you ask me! What do you think about these sandals? What would you wear them with? For more top shoe picks, check out posts featuring sandals by Sofia Vergara @KMart, neon jellies @Express, & ankle-strap espadrilles from Old Navy. Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: A Top Shoe Pick From Sofia Vergara for KMart!

It’s not a secret that I love celebrity fashion lines, so I’m returning to one of my favorites & that is Sofia by Sofia Vergara for KMart.  The funny star of Modern Family understands the budget of a working woman, as well as her desire to look smart, sexy, & stylish!  I’ve featured Sofia’s line @KMart previously here & here b/c there’s just so much to love about the very affordable & wearable collection.

I’ve chosen this Harper suede & snake pump ($34.99) b/c it is so versatile for work, to dress up a day look, or to wear with any cocktail dress.  Not only is it available in a sultry black, but it’s also sold in nude as a perfect neutral to any printed sheath dress, vintage-inspired jumpsuit, or modern LBD.

The possibilities are endless on how to wear this shoe, but for the unbeatable price, it’s a must-have this spring.  Also, it’s one of those styles that you can wear all year long.  For example, in the fall, break out some super opaque tights to wear these with a belted sweater dress or any layered look of a blouse & cardigan with skinny pants.  In the winter, I’d recommend these with a wool suit for the office or even with a structured brocade dress which will offset the snake & suede textures very nicely.

For more of my favorite footwear picks, check out previous posts which include jellies from Express, starry ballet flats from ALDO, DexFlex scrunch flats from Payless, & Old Navy’s colorful espadrilles!

Have you shopped for anything from Sofia’s line? Do you like these shoes? What would you wear them with? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: New Neon Jellies From Express!

Spring Break is here & I’m, as always, super excited to share my newest favorite item of footwear! Of course it’s been way too long since I’ve featured a high heel, but I can’t help but love the bow front jelly flip flops ($17.83) from Express, which are available in black, blue dazzle, bright pink, hot tamale, true white, & neon yellow.  They’re perfect for any swimsuit look, with a shorts romper, or when you’re running out of the house in a tank & mini skirt.

These flip-flops bring me back to being a kid, running around on the boardwalk at the beach. I love that they’re coming back into fashion now, especially since they’re currently 30% off from their original $24.90 price.  Will you be wearing neon jellies this summer? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Let Your Leopard Trench Do All The Work!

Sometimes when you’re putting an outfit together & a jacket is the best way to complete your look, you need something more than a basic beige, gray, or black piece of outerwear, which is why I’ve chosen to feature the leopard print trench coat ($30.00) from Charlotte Russe.

It’s currently marked down from its original $39.99 price tag & is available in sizes XS – XL.  It’s perfect for dressing up an all-black ensemble, or if you’d like to show off your personality against this season’s trend of brightly colored jeans.

If you’re looking to add a little leopard into your wardrobe, just make sure that when you put your outfit together that this is the only animal-inspired piece.  You don’t wanna look like you’re wearing a costume, especially when this look is just so chic when worn with neutrals & other minimal pieces.

While the weather is still transitioning from cool to warm in these early days of spring, at least here in New York, it’s good to keep a stylish trench in reach for more than just those pesky rainy days.  If you’re out & about on a cool morning, throw this on with any office look consisting of a skirt suit or cardigan & trousers separates.  Not to mention that this trench makes a statement that you’re not afraid to take fashion risks.  Of course, bold red or fuchsia trenches are feminine & flirty- that goes without saying, but why not try something as timeless as leopard print?

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Flat Fever For Spring!

I’ve made it no secret that I’ve been super busy these last few weeks b/c of my full-time job for Ladies Outfitters.  I’ve had to change the whole way I get ready for work in the morning since I’m a commuter on the train & have to do plenty of walking to the subways & then to the office.  In turn, my relationship with my feet has changed.  I’ll never relinquish my love for high heels, but I have to be reasonable in considering footwear since so much of my getting to & from work is by foot.  Therefore, I’m yet again featuring flats!

Easter is just around the corner, which means that all sorts of flats are currently out & about in stores! This includes flirty floral patterns, brights in patent, & neutral textures that can be worn with several different looks.  I’m mad for these Dexter Claire scrunch flats ($19.99) in ivory & black from Payless since the colors are right up my alley & they offer plenty of comforting support in the insole, which is perfect for a writer-on-the-go like myself.

I’m currently in possession of a 20% off coupon (code: 66284, expires 4/8/12), which gives me a whole week to try & find these shoes.  They’re out of stock on the website in my size, but perhaps one of these nights, I can find them at one of the many store locations in my area!

For more posts about ballet flats, check out my favorite animal print flats, Italian-inspired romantic bejeweled flats, affordable neutrals from Nine West! Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Spring Into Action @Old Navy (Dedicated to Rosie)!

Normally, I post about items that I pick out or suggest to friends, but I’m so super impressed with my best friend’s recent purchase that I just had to feature it here on Style Darling! Of course, I will take some credit b/c she asked me what colors I think would look good with an orange dress.  Based on a recent spread from one of my favorite fashion magazines, I suggested to her yellow, neutral, brown, olive, or royal blue.  I knew Rosie had been on the search for some spring-friendly espadrille wedges, ones not too high so that they’re comfortable enough to walk around in & here’s the end result of our style collaboration.  Although I should clarify that Rosie, my super duper bestie, picked out this outfit & I’ve suggested the two belts to help complete the look if she was going to wear it for an occasion.

Where did we go for this impulse ensemble? Old Navy, of course! She picked out the draped jersey tank dress ($20.00) in orange with the mixed pleated wedges ($28.50) in blue.  Also, the dress is available in black, in sizes ranging from XS – XXL.  The shoes are also sold in multiple colors like neutral, green, and while, in sizes 6-11.

The combination is very fashion forward, unexpected, and fresh for the spring / summer season!  This would also look great with an abstract print cardigan or denim jacket for day time.  For those warmer summer days when a lightweight dress is just the thing, perhaps adding a belt will help accentuate the waist & I suggested the faux patent leather narrow belt ($12.94) in blue, but it’s available in black too! Or if you’re wearing a dress like this with neutral accessories, the braided faux leather belt ($16.94) in brown will let the orange in the dress pop even more.

For more posts dedicated to my very good & stylish circle of friends, check out celebritiy-inspired scarf looks, best jackets for day & night, & a comfortable chic outfit for under $100!

What do you think of this dress? What colors would you style it with? Which new items are you looking to add to your spring / summer wardrobe? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: See What’s On Clearance @White House Black Market!

I’ve been writing so much about what’s new for spring, so I had to check out what’s going on @White House Black Market & how I can get my hands on some of the best end-of-the-season sale deals that can still be worn for the new season in fashion!

I’m mad for the mid length pleated skirt ($24.98) b/c it reminds pleating is always on-trend.  It’s sexy in that librarian chic kind of way & if worn right, it won’t look matronly.  Add a fitted tee & cardigan, silk cami & boyfriend blazer, or corset top & t-strap shoes with this dazzling & affordable must-have.

Next, I picked the double bow slingback, which unfortunately is out of stock, but it caught my eye.  I love the bordeaux and black combination on the croc patent leather.  It’s the perfect amount of texture and contrast to make a skirt suit, leggings & blouse, or little black dress more classic & sophisticated.

Lastly, I’m a sucker for polka dots & couldn’t get over the adorable factor here with the polka dot ruffle bag ($29.99), which is perfect for any time of year.  Pair this with a striped dress to play up the mixture of prints, or wear it with a neon sheath dress & nude pumps to show off your feminine side.

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: We’re Swooning Over Christian Siriano’s Spring Collection @Payless!

Now that spring is officially here, I’m stoked about all the new styles of spring shoes coming out! As always, I’m featuring designs from my favorite affordable shoe store, Payless! I make no apologies for that, especially when Project Runway winner Christian Siriano continues to create beyond beautiful confections of footwear for the masses.

This hyperbolic statement of course refers to the t-strap wedges ($19.99) in turquoise. Details like the patent leather straps, basketweave wedge, and t-strap across the ankle make this a diverse pair of go-to shoes for the spring & summer.

I love how they’re multi-toned, but still easy to wear with so many different looks, including a floral spring dress & cardigan, graphic tee & boyfriend jeans, polka-dotted blouse & walking shorts, or silky cami & mini skirt.

The wedges are currently on sale, marked down from their original $29.99 price!  This also includes the black, coral, and wide-width turquoise styles!

For more of the fabulousness that is footwear, check out posts like animal print flats from Nine West, Lea Michele modeling for Candie’s, & gorgeous creations from Prada, Valentino, & Christian Louboutin!

If you’d like to read more about the popular designer, Style Darling has plenty of Christian Siriano love for you to indulge, including his new ad campaign starring actress Mena Suvari and some classic round toe pumps in nude & black!

What do you think about these wedges? Are they too high for you? Are you a loyal Payless shopper? Do you like Christian Siriano’s designs? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Celebrate Spring With A Sale @ASOS!

I’ve been crazy busy beyond words lately & haven’t devoted any time to Style Darling.  I know, I know, shame on me! However, I was inspired by a recent conversation that I had with my favorite new co-worker (see his fashionable photography blog here) about the styles found @ASOS. It occurred to me that I hadn’t visited the site in quite some time so I took a click just tonight to find out what’s going on. I’m happy to share that right now the website has sale items up to 70% off, including shoes and accessories as well!

I found this modern & spring-ready mini dress with strap sides ($34.91) in yellow pictured here, but it is also available in cream, black, & blue.  I love the pop of yellow, which is very popular as we transition our wardrobes from dark & heavy to light & airy!

I love that this can be worn in so many different ways.  Call on the old ketchup-and-mustard trend (yes, it’s a trend) & slap on some red beads & a pair of red pumps.  Or go bolder with vibrant cobalt blue accessories.  If yellow is a tricky color, but you love the dress, it can easily be downplayed with some neutrals like beige, charcoal, or a classic black cardigan.

I recently featured an all-yellow post on a blog for work, featuring celebrities like Gwen Stefani, Reese Witherspoon, & Nicole Richie wearing yellow for day & night, which you can read here!

Do you dare to wear yellow? I do! Do you like side cut-outs? Well, not so much for my shape, but it does look great on the Style Darlings with the confidence to show off that hint of skin, especially on such a feminine & minimalist dress.

Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Never Forget Those Fabulous Flats!

After a brief text-versation with another shoe-loving Style Darling, I was reminded that it’s been waaaay too long since I’ve last visited Nine West.  It hurts a little to see all the stylish, new spring designs since I’m restricted from spending money on anything that isn’t a necessity. As some of you may already know, I’ve recently started a new full-time writing job (clicky!) in Brooklyn & that requires a financial investment in commuting from Long Island.

In doing so, I’ve reunited with my flats on a more full-time basis, which makes all my other work-friendly high heels a little jealous.  However, as I trek on & off train & subway platforms, I have to think about function before fashion. Then again, when it comes to comfortable ballet flats that meet my style needs, that’s not really an issue, especially when there are so many beautiful creations for sale right now @Nine West.

I was super excited to find the Berhta flats ($27.60) in multi grey synthetic, especially because they’re in a black & white animal print- always a must-have if you ask me! This style of flat is also available in different colors of leather, textures, sparkling hues, & other prints, but these are the only pair that have been marked down from their original $69.00 price tag!

I love that these flats are perfect to wear as a contrasting pattern to a belted polka-dotted dress for the weekend, with a cardigan & jeans for running errands during the day, or with a brightly colored blouse & a-line skirt outfit for the office. They’re a subtle way to add some dimension to your look if you wanna stay chic & minimal.  This pattern is also fabulous with bold, eye-catching colors like marigold, cobalt, & kelly green- which are all hot for this coming spring!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Stock Up On Polka Dot Stockings!

It’s no secret that I love polka dots & when they’re in hosiery, I literally go bonkers! It’s one of my favorite ways to start building an outfit.  Just because winter is winding down, it doesn’t mean that you can’t still keep your black tights in rotation for your work looks, daytime outfits, or adding texture to a nighttime ensemble.

Since I’ve been working my new job, commuting from the middle of Long Island into Brooklyn, I’ve been a little lazy (yet still stylish) on the outfit front since there’s no set dress code & casual wear is acceptable.  So it’s been a lot of jeans & cardigans, but I do miss wearing my favorite tights so much!

One of my favorite places to shop for stockings & tights is Kohl’s.  I can always rely on Simply Vera Vera Wang & Apt. 9 have polka dot, or dot-inspired legwear at an affordable price.  This includes the sheer dot control-top tights ($6.99) & the ellipse dotted control-top tights ($6.99). Both styles are currently marked down from their original $14.00 price tag, so it’s like you’re getting two pairs for the price of one!

Also, check out more posts from Quickie Darling Deal & Steal with all the latest news & updates of where you can find the best sales on the stylish trends right now!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Spring Into Style with Dresses from Forever 21!

I can feel it… spring’s a-comin’! What better way to welcome in the season than dress hunting? I visited one of my favorites stores, Forever 21, to see what was going on in terms of spring dresses & I found these three adorable dresses.

The soft orange, neutral, and yellow hues are perfect for ushering in the season, especially with dark denim skinny jeans, white cigarette pants, & a navy mini skirt.

I love the cascading shift dress ($24.80) in yellow / grey.  It’s lovely with a cardigan & wedges. The pleated bib dress ($24.80) in tomato can be made even softer with espadrilles and multi-color beads, or toughened up with a cropped boyfriend blazer & peep toe ankle booties.  Lastly, the colorblock trim dress ($27.80) in tan / orange is work-ready if you add a patent leather belt, or just the thing for a weekend family party.

Do you like these dresses? Where do you shop when it comes to spring fashions? What colors are you looking to add to your wardrobe this coming spring season?

Also, while I have your attention, I’d like to offer up some good reads for those of you who like the Style Darling world.  Not only am I a part of the Ladies Outfitters, Movie Buzzers, & Culture Mob family, but I’d like to share with all of you some of my friend’s blogs. Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Be Brash This Spring With Wedges From Payless!

Spring is in the air! I feel it!! So get walking to your nearest Payless where you can find all the new spring arrivals from their brand, Brash.  The Mallory wedge sandal ($29.99) in black is a new favorite of mine, especially since I’ve been eyeing those spring dresses of mine in the back of my closet.

These wedges are also available in brown & coral, with croc & gold studding accents on the side.  They’re the best way to dress down a little black dress for day & easy to slip on with you favorite pair of capris & a flirty floral blouse.

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Love Little Black Dresses @LadiesOutfitters!

I’m currently on a dire job hunt to make those fashion writing dreams come true, but I’m not about to start blogging away on all the great deals there are for job interview outfits.  I have my handy go-to dresses, including the black & white New York & Company dress about which I recently wrote.

However, my search for a job has led me to discover the chic, urban, & sexy items sold on Ladies Outfitters. The retailer features designers like Apple Bottoms, Dereon, Sean John, & Baby Phat.

Since I’m always a sucker for a sweet LBD, I just had to share some of my favorites, which are perfect for a fancy date night, a club crawl with the girls, an evening cocktail event, or family wedding.  I love how these dresses are all styled so differently, including edgy peep toe booties, sleek ankle shooties, metallic strappy sandals, & chunky patent platforms.

First up, the Sean John sexy sleeveless cowl neck party dress ($45.90) in black can be mixed & matched with some of your favorite accessories, including a denim jacket to dress it down for day or neon leggings to show off your wild side! If sparkly dresses get you going, the Katia sleeveless sequined v-neck mini party dress ($39.99) in black is just the thing to make a flirty entrance & make an ex-beau super jealous!

I know I’m always looking for something elegant & the S.L. Fashion sleeveless high neck chiffon dress with tiered ruffles ($59.99) in black is just what I’d pick.  The flattering tiers on the lower half will help show off an hourglass shape & jeweled accents make this a luxurious choice!  Lastly, the Ignite one shoulder belted sequined cocktail dress with asymmetrical neckline ($59.99) in black is a romantic & feminine, red-carpet-ready frock, perfect for so many occasions.

As you click around on the Ladies Outfitters website, be sure to check out the sale section, which includes vibrant tanks, wild leggings, maxi dresses, & skinny jeans! Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Cheer Me Up With Booties On Sale!

There are certainly times when I don’t want to make these blog entries too personal, but since I am feeling kind of down & out after some rather shocking news at the office today, I thought I’d cheer myself up with some online shoe browsing.

My current spring budget has been tightened to virtually nothing, so please join me in admiring the ‘Ireesh’ platform bootie ($59.60) by Nine West.  They’re an awesome deal since they’re marked down from the original $149.00 price tag.

I can picture wearing these booties with some seriously studded leggings or a favorite pair of dark wash skinny jeans.  Or, if you’re a daring Style Darling like Rachel Bilson, juxtapose the edginess of the leather & faux shearling interior with a floral romper & chunky cardigan.

Also, if you’re not into the black leather, Nine West also makes these in dark grey with black accents, an equally as stylish option- very Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, if Lisbeth Salander was into faux shearling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Where My Wedges At? DSW!

I recently wrote about the Top 10 Wedges @Neiman Marcus, but of course, those are a little out of my price range for my current spring budget.  I took a click on over to DSW & hit up their clearance section, which to my surprise, had plenty of spring shoes from which to choose! That includes the sandy wedge sandals ($19.94) in black by Two Lips, which have a compare price of $85!  These are perfect for pairing with the latest styles in spring dresses, or with separates that include denim mini skirts, flirty blouses, & printed rompers.

Also, I couldn’t resist sharing the Miss Me finch 5 sandal ($9.94), G by GUESS Farrens wedge sandal ($14.94) in tan, Madden Girl tulip flat ($19.94), & Bandolino Milady slingback pump ($19.94). Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: No-Sweat Sale Prices on Sweaters @LOFT!

Thankfully, the weather in New York has been pretty mild this winter, but I know I’m a little sad since I haven’t been able to go all-out winterized with my wardrobe.  However, the bright side is that some of my favorite stores has really amazing & classic sweaters on sale now, especially since they’re clearing out their racks in preparation for spring.

Right now @LOFT, there are some especially affordable deals on clearance items for women, petites, maternity apparel, & accessories. I picked out these 3 cozy sweaters that caught my eye & are perfect for pairing with dark wash skinny jeans & riding boots- just a suggestion!

The cowl neck long sleeve sweater ($12.88), my favorite of the trio, is available in black, camel, gray, & cream. The shoulder zip cable knit sweater ($12.88) is perfect for layering over a tee, tank, or with this season’s best trend: boldly colored jeans!  If you’re a fan of stripes, then check out the very Americana stripe cozy cable v-neck sweater ($12.88) for a weekend getaway ski trip or B&B runaway.

Where are you looking to find great end-of-the-season clearance deals? What’s your must-have item right now? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Romantic Flats from Forever 21, Inspired By Fine Italian Designs!

I wanted to share some of my favorite images from my shopping adventures during my most recent trip to Italy.  I went on a tour to the beautiful city of Montepulciano (& visited the amazing Bindella winery), & during my afternoon stroll throughout the city, I found a cute little leather goods store which sold shoes, bags, belts, & other fine quality Italian merchandise.  Among such splendors of style, I took pictures of these flats.  I loved the jewel & feather details, as well as their feminine round toe and cap toe shapes.

I was shopping around on some of my favorite websites of American stores & naturally, I found myself visiting Forever 21.  Then, I came across these two pairs of flats, which brought my right back to that little shop in Montepulciano.  The faceted rhinestone flats in black ($17.80) & embellished rhinestone flats ($17.80) may not be made of real leather, but the price tag is very budget-friendly.

I’ve been wearing a lot of ballet flats recently since I suffered a minor ankle injury during my travels, so naturally I’ve been trying to make them work in the most flattering way possible for my wardrobe.  For more fashionable posts on flats, check out what I’ve found from Charlotte Russe, Nine West, & Topshop! Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Starting Off 2012 In Style & On The Right Foot!

Dear Style Darling Readers, My endless apologies for my nearly month-long absence, but due to my amazing trip to Italy & subsequent illness that sidelined me for a whole week after my return, I’d like to make January count for something on here, so let’s talk about shoes!

Since I’ve been in bed, ignoring all email alerts for sales on the latest spring styles, my first stop (once I peeled myself out of misery & a layer of tissues) was Payless.  I was happy to find the La Femme pumps ($32.99) by Christian Siriano, my very favorite winner of Project Runway.

Not only are they perfect for transitioning your winter / fall wardrobe, but the price is pretty awesome too! Right now, Payless is offering their fabulous Buy One, Get One 50% off sale, so spending $33 on a pair of pumps isn’t such a bad deal.

Of course, this isn’t the first time I’m talking about classic black pumps or sleek nude patent pumps, but these will really never go out of style!  They’re perfect for pairing with something a little wild, or even if you’d like to keep your look streamlined & professional. Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Fierce Tights From Fred Flare!

I realize that I’ve posted lots about tights & stockings, but if you didn’t gasp with adoration for these fashionable leg coverings, then you’re not really a Style Darling! One of my favorite ways to style a dress / skirt look this season is with tights & tights with texture, design, pattern, or delicate details are no exception to this.

While casually clicking around the Fred Flare website, I found these two pairs of tights on sale & I’m two minutes away from breaking out my wallet to buy them online, but I know I’m on a super crazy budget since I’m leaving for Italy on Wednesday.

The polka dot New York tights ($19.99) have been marked down from $30.00 & would instantly make any LBD look a little more flirty & playful.  Also, I’d even wear these to the office with something simple like suede pumps & a black cardigan.

The midnight garden party tights ($9.99) have also been reduced from their original $15.00 price tag & would transform a sheath dress from sexy to super deadly.  The mixture of something so feminine as lace against edgier fabrics like leather or metal embellishments can bring your outfit to a whole new level.

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Classic Black Pumps @Nine West for Under $30!

Are you looking for some awesome end-of-the-season deals?  Well, I was clicking through the Nine West website & came across these basic black pumps.  Of course, I’m always looking for something fabulous or textured to spruce up a look, but sometimes sticking to something classic works just as well if your look is busy with detail.

I found the ‘Jennifer’ pump ($27.60) in black leather on the sale section of the website & immediately knew that I had to post about these. They also made me think of some recent looks (see right) worn by Kerry Washington, Elizabeth Olsen & Zooey Deschanel at red carpet events. Even though these are dressy looks, round toe pumps are also a good way to play down fancier pieces like hot pink cigarette pants, a sequin mini skirt, or embellished LBD.
