On one unsuspecting Saturday night, I found myself planted in front of the tube watching Wizard of Oz with my best friend, Rosie. Of course, I can’t get over Dorothy’s signature ruby slippers. I have plenty of red high heels, but none are quite as classic & adorable as the original Salvatore Ferragamo designed shoes for the movie.
I’ve recently posted a lot about shoes & even dedicated a whole Color Me Style post to Rosie (clicky here), but there’s really no such thing as too many red shoes!
Take a look at these shoes which range in price from $24.50 – $99.00, but are totally worth the investment if you’re looking to add some glimmering polish to the upcoming holiday season & for any smashing LBD ensemble. My favorites by far are the glittery mary jane platform pumps ($30.00) from Charlotte Russe. The store is currently having a sale where you can buy shoes BOGO $15.00. That’s a good deal! You can find the sparkle toe pumps ($99.00) @Victoria’s Secret, or go for some all-over twinkle with the Promiscuous ‘Ryan’ pumps ($24.50) from 6PM.
While Dorothy’s shoes weren’t peep toes, I’ve also selected the ‘Jeana’ knot slingbacks ($27.99) in red satin, which add an old Hollywood glamour to any look, from Payless. They’re also available in black & wide width, just in case the red isn’t for you. I’m also a big fan of patent leather, so these Romantic Soles ‘Peony’ pumps ($44.50) sold @Zappos are the perfect fit for a polka-dotted dress in the summer, or with heavier textures this season like tweed or a chunky knit dress. Speaking of texture, @Nine West, the ‘Galactica’ suede pumps ($69.30) have a little bit more edge with gold embellishments around the platform.

Recently, my best friend, Rosie, revealed to me that she wants some red shoes. My first instinct was to be her shoe guide, & also get a good blog out of it! While our styles & tastes are very different, I was proud to go on the hunt to find shoes that meet her very specific needs: not too high. Standard heel size for me is four inches, but I found these styles that Rosie should try on whether she’s trying to look sexy for a date night & keep her daytime office look both professional & polished.
