Ad Madness: Ashlee Simpson Models For Sister’s Fall 2013 Jessica Simpson Collection Campaign!

Among all the celebrity sisterly duos, I have to say that the Simpsons, Jessica & Ashlee that is, are my favorite. While their musical careers may have lost their spark, it’s safe to say that the Texas natives are feeling good taking on fashion. The Jessica Simpson Collection has been successful with plenty of feminine apparel items & flirty accessories like platforms & sandals that are perfect for any wardrobe.

Magazine Must-Haves: Cosmopolitan, Kim Kardashian, & Cute Fall Finds! What More Can You Ask For?

This month’s issue of Cosmopolitan is full of excellent relationship advice, fun dating tips, & the star of Keeping up With the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian.  The newly engaged reality queen poses on the cover in a top by Alternative Apparel & dishes on how she balances her personal life & career.

While you’re flipping through the pages, be sure to check out the best fall fashion finds recommended by editors.  These items include basic casual tops like the yellow & white stripe tank from Roxy & a colorblock baseball tee from American Eagle Outfitters, both for under $40.  Fall just isn’t complete without a pair of jeans like the Dreamer bootcut jeans from Old Navy were just marked down from $34.50 to $29.50!

For dressier occasions, take a look at the nude ‘Boulerice’ patent pumps from Aldo, which has also been reduced in price, from $75.00 to $37.49!  While we’re talking shoes, check out some classic round toe ‘Calie’ pumps by Jessica Simpson Collection, which are also available on Zappos & Endless for $79.00.  These pumps are basics for any Style Darling- which is why I’ve already written a whole blog about it in Basics for a Bargain.  Also, from American Apparel, this flat edge leather belt in medium brown costs $34.00, but would pair well with a plaid button down & some cut-off shorts for now, or over a sweater dress for next season. Lastly, you can find the Marc Fisher overachiever flap satchel @Macy’s in lemon, orange, & black on sale for $53.99, originally $78.00.

Style ABC’s (x3): D is for Diane Kruger, Dolce & Gabbana, & d’Orsay Pumps!

is for Diane Kruger, the gorgeous German actress / model who is probably best known for her Golden Globe nominated role in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds.  She had her first big break with Troy as the beautiful Helen, but has made headlines in the fashion world, donning every designer under the sun!  She is currently the face of Calvin Klein Beauty & is a red carpet A-lister in Prabal Gurung, Chanel, & Lanvin.  Here are just some of her most fabulous looks, including casual chic, cocktail, formal, & uber glam!

Dolce & Gabbana are the Italian designing duo behind the label of the same name, as well as D&G.  It’s hard to ignore a chic & sophisticated designs when they come down the runway.  However, their collections span everything from formal red carpet-wear to flirty cocktail pieces and separates.  With fans like Scarlett Johansson (who is the spokes model for the brand’s cosmetics line), Blake Lively, & Jennifer Aniston, this is a brand that everyone knows for its luxury & quality.  Here are just a few looks from Jessica Alba at the Venice Film Festival in an all-over floral print dress, Reese Witherspoon receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a cute polka dot pencil dress, & Eva Mendes in a red & black leopard ballgown at a red carpet event.

A d’orsay Pump is “a woman’s shoe in which the vamp of the shoe is cut away very close to the toe box, & the sides are cut away, revealing the arch of the foot,” as per About.com. They’re classic for many events, revealing a little more foot cleavage, especially with bows, peep toes, ruffles, & luxurious fabrics like satin.  Here are some choices that make for a stylish finishing touch to your favorite LBD, belted sheath, & floral number.  You can find affordable styles from famous brand like Jessica Simpson Collection, Anne Klein, & Steve Madden from discount retailers like 6pm, Shoe Buy, & Zappos!  Happy Styling!

The $100 Challenge: Jessica Simpson Collection $25 Off $125 or More!

Because I’m signed up to receive emails from the Jessica Simpson Collection, I learned about a very special discount code (25125) which allows shoppers a $25 discount on purchases of $125 or more.  Yeah, that’s a lot of money, but when clicking around on the website, there were a lot of great items from which to choose that can total up to $125 & you’d be able to use that discount.  In addition, the website offers FREE SHIPPING to all purchases over $100.

If you want to shop more from this brand, be sure to check out sales & deals at Macy’s, 6pm, Zappos, & Shop Style.

These six items total $125.94 & after your discount, that gives you a total of $100(ish) dollars, thus fitting into our $100 Challenge theme.  Most of these items can either be found under the sale category or in the accessories.  You can wear big cutout earrings with any day or night look, including a zebra print dress & banded sandals.  Skinny jeans are always perfect with gold ballet flats or two-toned Mary Janes.  Argyle tights add a sophisticated touch to any preppy look, especially with a feminine wool coat.  A flirty bra & panties combo comes from this cute collection of sexy sets that will make getting dressed even sexier!  Multicolored striped wraps just scream out nautical would go with a polka dot tee & duffle satchel. Even though winter is gone, keep a sequin beret like this handy for those snowy bad-hair days, especially with a leather jacket & suede knee boots. Happy Styling!

Color Me Style: Yellow (Dedicated To Estelle)!

On a rather semi-uneventful night of style (although I did break in my new silver flats from Wet Seal!), I suddenly found myself pursued by my good friend & fellow shoe lover, Estelle, who was in a style crisis- shudder to think.  She’s getting married in less than six months & has her heart set on yellow shoes for the big day.  As much as I love dresses & the thought of going shopping for my own wedding dress one day, deep down, it’ll always be about the shoes.  I had to help out & happily began my mission.  I turned to my emergency “favorites” folder, reserved for Style Darlings in need (which I’ve since expanded & updated here for all your crazy online shoppers!).  Not to mention that this challenge was a little extra hard since yellow isn’t necessarily a fall color & it is October.

I should mention that in my Color Me Style posts, I featurd all fashionable items from jewelry to tops to skirts, & so on, along with celebrity looks in the specific color.  However, this is a special case, so I’m breaking up my blog routine.  Estelle is looking for something open so that her feet could breathe on her very busy day, so strappy sandals & peep toes were essential.  Knowing Estelle, bows were not to be ruled out!  With a collection of varying styles, colors, & heel heights, here’s what we came up with during a lengthy & satisfying Facebook exchange.

Overall there were some winners & hopefully, of these picks, the beautiful bride-to-be will have found the pair for her. For general knowledge, here are the websites featured in this blog: Nina Shoes, 6pm, Baker’s Shoes, EDressMe, Love My Shoes, Shoe Buy, Shoe Mall, Shoe Woo, YOOX, GOjane. During my extensive exchange with Estelle, sites like DSW, Zappos, Piperlime, Endless, Steve Madden, Chinese Laundry, Foot Notes Online, Bluefly, Couture Candy, AMI Clubwear, Macys, Jildor, Nine West, Jessica Simpson Collection, & Victoria’s Secret were also perused.  I recommend all of the above sites for you next shoe adventure even though they didn’t provide for tonight’s goal.  If you know of any great websites to check out yellow peep toe heels for a special occasion, leave a comment to let us know!  The search is still in progress, so please please please share!  Happy Styling!
