Watch This Style: Simply Irresistible Sex & The City Segues!

Sex & the CIty

Happy New Year Style Darlings! There’s so much to look forward to in 2013, but I thought I’d take a minute to ring in the new year with an oldie, but a goodie.  Thanks to my email subscription to StyleIte, I came across this hilarious video of Sex & the City, featuring Carrie’s always pun-tastic segues.  Where would the show be without her quippy voiceovers transitioning from bedroom to bedroom? This video comes to us from Slackatory, so sit back & enjoy the hilarity.  I’ve been catching up on the show’s reruns which air on E!, but it’s funny to remember some of the awkward moments that the girls faced in the big apple.  Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Get Your First Look At AnnaSophia Robb in ‘The Carrie Diaries’!

Back in April, I came across from sneak preview images from the newest CW series, The Carrie Diaries, based on Candace Bushnell’s novel, starring newcomer, AnnaSophia Robb, as the iconic Carrie Bradshaw in 1984.  I was a little hesitant to watch the video below, but I’m glad I did. Of course the show, which premieres in January, won’t be the same as the original HBO show with the incomparable Sarah Jessica Parker, darling Kristin Davis, daring Kim Cattrall, & brilliant Cynthia Nixon.

We get to see a different side of the beloved character who still inspires red carpets & runways even after the show’s end in 2004, the first film in  2008, & its sequel in 2010.  Check out my previous post, sharing the fashionable images from The Carrie Diaries, which make me wanna break out my bright turquoise pointed toe pumps! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: A First Look At AnnaSophia Robb in ‘The Carrie Diaries!’

It’s been a long time coming, but The Carries Diaries are currently underway. Upcoming actress AnnaSophia Robb is filling the very fashionable Louboutins of Sarah Jessica Parker in the role of the beloved Carrie Bradshaw!  I’ve been scouring the internet for set photos since the show is in production & we hear more & more about casting news everyday.  Although we haven’t heard anything yet about younger Charlottes, Samanthas, or Mirandas appearing on the show, I’m super excited to share what I’ve found.  It seems like the younger 80s version of Carrie is true to the older HBO character that we’ve grown to adore!

What do you think of the new CW show so far? Would you watch it? Do you think AnnaSophia does Carrie justice? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style / Silver Screen Style: The Very Best of Samantha Jones (a la Sex & the City 2)!

My last post was about a quartet of stylish women, but when you’re talking about that, you have to mention Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, & Miranda!

Even though Sex & the City 2 wasn’t as huge of a success as the first film, all the elements of friendship, romance, comedy, & style are still there.  If you didn’t know this already, I’m definitely a Charlotte with a plash of Carrie.  However, during my latest venture around YouTube, I came across this nearly 12 1/2 minute video montage of Samantha’s best moments from the sequel film.  I have to say that I haven’t watched this movie as much as I have the first once, but it’s always fun to see what the girls are up to, even if their time in New York is limited.  Have fun watching Samantha’s highlights, as well as the unforgettable banter between the ladies!  Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Carrie Bradshaw’s Top 10 Looks (Thanks To A YouTube Video)!

I love watching video clips about style & can never get enough about Sex & the City.  Although I’m a total Charlotte, but Carrie Bradshaw is such an icon, not just for television, but for the fashion world!  I came across this fun little gem that brings us back to Carrie’s closet, with some of her best looks from the HBO series.  FabTV put together this two-and-a-half minute clip sometime before the second movie premiered, inspiring me to want to watch every season all over again & the two movies, just to drool over each characters’ style!

My favorite of all of Carrie’s ensembles comes from the final episode, when she’s running all over Paris & finally sees Big & he tells her that she’s the one! It’s a vintage tulle ballet-inspired dress that screams all things fairy tale romance & American Style Darling in Paris!  If someone wants to make one for me, or buy me one, I’d be a very happy blogger! Enjoy the video & Happy Styling!

The $100 Challenge: A True Style Darling Uniform!

Somehow or another, the circle of style keeps coming back my way, which makes me very happy.  I recently received word from a very fashionable college friend that the very chic & spirited retailer Mod Cloth features a dress that’s called none other than “Style Darling.”  So here we are on a very snowy blog day that requires a venture into some familiar territory, The $100 Challenge

While we’re in the middle of a week of gray skies, I wanted to show this dress, staying true to its sweetness, but also add some surprises.  Given the price of this dress, at a cool $61.99, wouldn’t it be something to make an entire stylish outfit with the remaining $38?  I love how the simplicity of this dress reminds me of something vintage with a touch of Charlotte York, but the bright tights have a little essence of Carrie Bradshaw.  A touch of polka dots makes for a playful collar, the cinched waist allows for a belt with a little gold- just enough metallic so as not to clash with classic silver bangles.  A simple foldover coin purse turns into a chic daytime clutch & you can’t forget about those cut-out shooties that are perfect for any time of year.  They’re just enough modern for this mod look!  This look can be switched up with knee boots & bright leather belt, or a sweet cardigan & cute ballet flats.  Thanks Michelle & Happy Styling!
