Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays, Style Darlings! As we get ready for the new year, perhaps we’ve indulged in one too many sweets & some of our slimmest duds aren’t too forgiving. In an effort to keep your wardrobe looking fresh, but still stylish without wearing baggy & unflattering sacks, why don’t we spend a little time on accessories, which always generally fit. Of course, remaining budget-conscious for 2012 is important, but if you’ve been the lucky recipient of gift cards for this holiday season, then perhaps a little splurging is in order!
Not to mention that the newest installment to the fashion reality competition circuit, Project Accessory, recently wrapped its first season, crowning designer Brian Burkhardt the first winner. So needless to say, accessories have been on my mind!
The bold blue mobile phone case ($3.95) from H&M adds a fun pop of color & will certainly make it easier to find your buzzing phone when it’s hiding at the bottom of your purse. Speaking of bags, I know I only choose one here, but I do love the preppy feel of the suedette messenger bag ($27.80) in red & brown from Forever 21. There, you can also find the set of 6 assorted headbands ($1.50), lacquered star studs ($1.50) in yellow, pyramid stud ring ($2.80), & glitter & mirrors bangle ($1.80) in hot pink.
Right now @Charlotte Russe, you can buy 2 belts for $15 & with this deal, I picked out the chunky glitter stretch belt ($9.50) & set of 3, the solid, shimmer, & braided belts ($10.50). The assortment of textures & size will work for over & under cardigans, along with completing blazer looks!
If you’re a JC Penney shopper, then you probably know all about the rewards for being a cardholder, including earning points for discounts like $10 off a $10 purchase.. that’s like getting something for nothing! I love the detail in the Color Craze stretch bracelet ($8.00) in black & gold, along with the elegant animal-inspiration in the scarf ($11.99). Speaking of animal inspiration, @Macy’s, you can find the Style & Co. leopard print hoop earrings ($16.00) are 80’s-inspired, but still funky enough for a cocktail look & little splash of sass.
Lastly, I haven’t included any necklaces, but I think there’s something really interesting in the Apt. 9 gold tone textured link necklace ($10.00) from Kohl’s, which has been marked down from its original price of $20. The total for all of this comes to $100.34 before taxes, but if these are stores that you frequent, then you know all about the best deals & steals with coupons, discounts, & sales.
Where do you like to shop for new fashion jewelry? Did you like the first season of Project Accessory? Did it inspire any new accessories for your outfits? Happy Styling!
