I haven’t clicked around on my favorite luxury store sites in a while, so I thought it was time to check back with some dreamy fall fashions! @Nordstrom, brands like Alexander Wang, Balenciaga Paris, & Oscar de la Renta are just as regular as there are birds in the sky. Even though 70s influence is everywhere with flowy tops & high-waisted jeans, I’m crazy for the mod color-blocking look. This is an amazing example of that & I’d love to have every piece!
To start building our look, I’m smitten with this Diane von Furstenberg ‘Lorah’ dress ($345.00). The mock houndstooth print in graphic black & white is super chic & creates a slim line hugging your figure. When wearing a dress like this, a coat at the same length is super sexy. The Ellen Tracy a-line wool blend coat ($198.00) in plum is lush & modern, especially when paired with a bold boot like Via Spiga ‘Piper’ boot ($379.00). When you take off the coat, there’s still that special pop of color in the boots that would even work with leggings & a tunic mini dress, or a leather mini skirt & one-shoulder top.
To keep your legs covered as the weather is changing, the DKNY ‘Super Opaque’ control top tights ($15.00) are the only affordable piece to the whole outfit, but make a mini dress look more figure-flattering. Additional accessories include deco / mod-inspired jewelry. Since there are so many shapes in the dress, you can play with dimension with the Kara by Kara Ross large cabochon ring ($190.00). The gold also goes with the Belle Noel mini-dagger collar necklace ($188.00) that helps call attention to your face & gorgeous smile.
Since there’s so much going on with the dress, colorful coat & shoe, & sharp jewelry, a basic black clutch like the Tasha Snake Embossed Metal Box Clutch ($88.00) is the perfect match. The size is good enough to fit in the pockets of the coat, or if you carry it with you, it can fit comfortably under your arm while you’re taking compliments on your look.
The total for this look comes to just over $1400.00, but pays homage to all the great trends for fall. Even though we can’t all afford luxury items like the ones that I’ve shown, I can celebrate the fact that big, bold patterns are in style, sexy suede footwear can totally transform an outfit, & timeless opaque tights can make any look work!
