Show Me the Shoes: Affordable Fall Flats for the Office, Inspired by Emma Stone, Victoria Beckham, & More (Dedicated to Christine)!

I love getting inspired about fashion when chatting up my friends, & today’s post is no exception. My dear friend Christine, styling it up in New Jersey, recently shared her concerns about finding comfy, yet stylish flats for the office & my brain went spinning with inspiration. Given my crazy day-to-day schedule between two jobs & grad school, I’m constantly on the go, which also means that my collection of flats has grown exponentially with fashionable possibilities for a chic, professional look. To get started, I sought out some images of the best dressed A-listers wearing elements that make up a great work look, especially with a fall wardrobe on the brain.Angelina Jolie, Camilla Belle, Emma Stone, Emmy Rossum, Jennifer Lopez, & Karlie Kloss in flats. These celebrities include: Angelina Jolie, Camilla Belle, Emma Stone, Emmy Rossum, Jennifer Lopez, Karlie Kloss, Mandy Moore, Olivia Palermo, Pippa Middleton, Reese Witherspoon, Taylor Swift, & Victoria Beckham. Flats are certainly not a cop-out, adding a little extra splash of femininity against a cardigan & shirt pairing, sleek menswear look, blouse & trousers ensemble, & sheath dress.

#RedCarpet Review: All The Looks From The 2015 #Emmys, Including #BestDressed Stars Kerry Washington, Lady Gaga, & More!

Tonight’s Emmy awards are already causing a buzz all over the internet, especially among fashion bloggers everywhere. I have nothing but love to show for all the female nominees & presenters on the red carpet. At the end of the day, it’s all about positively celebrating today’s most talented women. However, when it comes to fashion, there’s a legacy about the red carpet & seeing high-end couture & designers’ visions come to life on some of our favorite stars.

Some of my favorites walked the red carpet in California’s sweltering heat to the beat of their own stylish drum, including Scandal star Kerry Washington (in Marc Jacobs), Modern Family star Sarah Hyland (in Zac Posen), a bold January Jones (in  Ulyana Sergeenko), Empire‘s Cookie, Taraji P. Henson (in Alexander Wang), & funny girl Amy Schumer (in Zac Posen).

The Weddington Way Challenge: How To Restyle A Bridesmaid Dress!

Style Darling Daily for Weddington Way's How to Restyle a Bridesmaid Dress. SHOP: D449, Emily, Lily, Scarlett, & Aubrey.

Style Darling Daily is expanding its styling possibilities by means of Weddington Way, a chic one stop shop for all things bridal for the millennial woman. Not only does the company have a fantastic Facebook following, but they’ve been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Knot, & Martha Stewart Weddings, to name a few. For my latest post, I transformed bridesmaid looks (shop the bridesmaid dress collection here) into something that can be worn beyond the ceremony & reception. Since I’m always all about a great dress, I took on the challenge with a budget shopper in mind, wanting to get the most use from a garment, while appealing to shoppers of all sizes.

Since most of us aren’t walking a red carpet any time soon (maybe, maybe one day), considering how to re-wear a long bridesmaid dress is a tricky task. When I found the Dove & Dahlia Clara dress in plum perfect (also available in blush champagne, coral kiss, mint to be, something navy, & slate gray), I was immediately inspired by all of the latest fall trends hitting stores (let’s not wish August away yet!), & I wanted to featured tougher, modern textures & accessories to really bring new life to this classic long dress, especially since maxi looks aren’t just for summer. I couldn’t pick one shoe for this look, so I went with two really edgy, statement footwear items to alternate when going wine tasting in the country, checking out an art show, or heading to the city to enjoy a play.

The Weddington Way - How To Restyle a Long Bridesmaid Dress

SHOP: 1. Dove & Dahlia Clara dress ($129.00) in plum perfect @Weddington Way (available in other colors & sizes XS – 2XL), 2. Jennifer Lopez hoop earrings ($10.50, was $14.00) in gold @Kohl’s, 3. belt ($19.97, was $39.95) in leopard @The Limited (shop similar in plus size here), 4. pyramid bangle ($19.00, was $60.00) in gold @Gilt, 5. scroll jacket ($44.00) in black @Dress Barn (shop plus size here), 6. handbag ($35.00) in black @ALDO, 7. booties ($25.00, was $42.99) in black @Charlotte Russe, & 8. D’orsay heels ($32.99) in black @Charlotte Russe.

Short dresses are fun to play around with, what with so many choices of shoes & jackets. In contrast to the above look, I picked a brighter option in mint to be with the Dove & Dahlia Jessica frock (also available in blush champagne, coral kiss, something navy, plum perfect, & slate gray), which immediately made me envision a walk through town with your beau, lunch with the girls, or going from a day of errands to a party at night. I took a more playful approach to this dress with every day basics to reinvent the elegance for a street style win.

The Weddington Way - How To Restyle a Short Bridesmaid Dress

I’d like to thank Weddington Way for the opportunity to explore their affordable & chic collections with this interesting & stylish challenge. It’s certainly made me rethink my special occasion pieces for more than just a loved one’s special day, especially since style makes every day a special one. Red Carpet Review: Jennifer Lopez’s Stylish ‘The Boy Next Door’ Press Tour!

Jennifer Lopez's 'The Boy Next Door' Press TourJennifer Lopez is one of the most beautiful women on the planet & it’s no surprise that she’s taking every opportunity to show her best style during her latest press tour for her latest thriller film, The Boy Next Door, which opens tomorrow in theaters. The 45-year-old mother of two is hitting every talk show possible in the most fashionable runway looks, combined with the ultra-chic, effortless glam that we love about her. However, not only is her style getting lots of attention, but it’s also the suspenseful movie that’s creating tons of buzz.

Basics For A Bargain: Pointy Animal Print Flats, Tom Ford Vs. Old Navy!

I am all over the new September issues of my favorite fashion magazines, loving all of the style inspiration inside the pages, especially when I’m seeking Basics for a Bargain. So, Lucky magazine is among my go-to publications to expand my wardrobe, as well as shoe & accessories collections. I’m always a big fan of animal prints, which make a great neutral as accessories with some bold solid pieces like a sheath dress & pumps, a belted jumpsuit, or crisp separates with sandals. Now that I’m looking ahead to the fall, I’m pretty excited about wearing flats when I’m headed out & about to my jobs & class. In the pages of Lucky, I found these gorgeous panther print hair calf padlock ballerina flats ($1,190.00) in cognac by the one & only, Tom Ford.

Leopard flats. Tom Ford & Old Navy.

I was immediately reminded of my recent coupon-toting excursion to Old Navy, where I found these animal print d’orsay flats ($16.00). However, the pair that I ended up bringing home was actually reduced to under $8 in stores. I tried these pointy toe flats on & was very excited at the possibilities of how I can wear them: with a little black dress, a cardigan-blouse-pencil skirt combo, & when I’m trying to transition some of my summer favorites into fall like a maxi dress & denim jacket.

For more fashionable animal print flats on the market right now, check out other picks from Steve Madden, Christian Siriano for Payless, Lucky brand @DSW, & Nine West. Where do you like to shop for new fall footwear? What designer do you turn to for style inspiration? Having so much retail experience, I can tell you that flats are a stylish lifesaver to the working woman’s feet. I’m most inspired by details print & pattern, texture, shine, & menswear inspiration, which are essential ingredients to make any holiday season all the more special.
