Runway Rundown: The Entire Plaid Adam Lippes for Target Lookbook!

Adam Lippes Collection for Target.

There’s so much going on for fall right now in terms of fashion & style. Even though it breaks my heart to wish the summer away, I have to share the newest mad-for-plaid lookbook from Adam Lippes for Target, including pieces for not just your wardrobe, but menswear, children’s clothing, home décor, outdoor goods, & much, much more! The collection is exciting for fall with fresh take on the cold weather staple print, set to hit stores on September 27th, ranging in price from $10.00 to $130.00.

Adam Lippes Collection for Target. 02.

The American designer recently shared with Glamour his love for plaid & excitement to create a capsule collection with Target that can reach such a vast customer base: “The history of Buffalo plaid in America starts with the Woolrich company, which originally [did it] in men’s shirts… I’ve worked with it in my own collection over the years, so for me the challenge was to make it fresh and not too boring or conservative…it’s simple but not basic, refined but not boring.”

Ad Madness: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s New Campaign for Paige Denim!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Paige Denim 01Model / actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is always on point when it comes to red carpet looks, street style, & when she’s working it on the runway & on camera. As the face & body of Paige Denim,  the humanitarian for UNICEF & AIDS research advocate, continues to take the fashion world by storm with the brand’s newest campaign for fall denim. The collection includes plenty of leather outerwear, classic button down shirts, henleys & pullovers, printed jackets, & cozy knits, all of which will inspire your fall style.

PopSugar reports: “The supermodel, who collaborated with the brand’s founder Paige Adams-Geller, showed up to their initial Fall 2015 campaign meeting with shots of Kate Moss’s iconic model off-duty looks all over her Pinterest board. That served as the inspiration for the Autumn shoot, where Rosie worked with celebrity stylist Cher Coulter to channel Kate’s rock-and-roll appeal — a fitting tie-in for the brand’s new lineup of seasonal denim and its first collection of outerwear.”

The Weddington Way Challenge: How To Restyle A Bridesmaid Dress!

Style Darling Daily for Weddington Way's How to Restyle a Bridesmaid Dress. SHOP: D449, Emily, Lily, Scarlett, & Aubrey.

Style Darling Daily is expanding its styling possibilities by means of Weddington Way, a chic one stop shop for all things bridal for the millennial woman. Not only does the company have a fantastic Facebook following, but they’ve been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Knot, & Martha Stewart Weddings, to name a few. For my latest post, I transformed bridesmaid looks (shop the bridesmaid dress collection here) into something that can be worn beyond the ceremony & reception. Since I’m always all about a great dress, I took on the challenge with a budget shopper in mind, wanting to get the most use from a garment, while appealing to shoppers of all sizes.

Since most of us aren’t walking a red carpet any time soon (maybe, maybe one day), considering how to re-wear a long bridesmaid dress is a tricky task. When I found the Dove & Dahlia Clara dress in plum perfect (also available in blush champagne, coral kiss, mint to be, something navy, & slate gray), I was immediately inspired by all of the latest fall trends hitting stores (let’s not wish August away yet!), & I wanted to featured tougher, modern textures & accessories to really bring new life to this classic long dress, especially since maxi looks aren’t just for summer. I couldn’t pick one shoe for this look, so I went with two really edgy, statement footwear items to alternate when going wine tasting in the country, checking out an art show, or heading to the city to enjoy a play.

The Weddington Way - How To Restyle a Long Bridesmaid Dress

SHOP: 1. Dove & Dahlia Clara dress ($129.00) in plum perfect @Weddington Way (available in other colors & sizes XS – 2XL), 2. Jennifer Lopez hoop earrings ($10.50, was $14.00) in gold @Kohl’s, 3. belt ($19.97, was $39.95) in leopard @The Limited (shop similar in plus size here), 4. pyramid bangle ($19.00, was $60.00) in gold @Gilt, 5. scroll jacket ($44.00) in black @Dress Barn (shop plus size here), 6. handbag ($35.00) in black @ALDO, 7. booties ($25.00, was $42.99) in black @Charlotte Russe, & 8. D’orsay heels ($32.99) in black @Charlotte Russe.

Short dresses are fun to play around with, what with so many choices of shoes & jackets. In contrast to the above look, I picked a brighter option in mint to be with the Dove & Dahlia Jessica frock (also available in blush champagne, coral kiss, something navy, plum perfect, & slate gray), which immediately made me envision a walk through town with your beau, lunch with the girls, or going from a day of errands to a party at night. I took a more playful approach to this dress with every day basics to reinvent the elegance for a street style win.

I’d like to thank Weddington Way for the opportunity to explore their affordable & chic collections with this interesting & stylish challenge. It’s certainly made me rethink my special occasion pieces for more than just a loved one’s special day, especially since style makes every day a special one. Eva Mendes for Estee Lauder's New Dimension Skincare

Eva Mendes is one busy woman- not only is she a mother, girlfriend of Ryan Gosling, fashion designer (for New York & Company), & cosmetics mogul (for Circa), she’s also a spokesmodel for Estee Lauder‘s New Dimension Skincare line, including serums & cosmetics to enhance the look of your skin. The Cuban-American beauty is flawless in the ads, featuring her warm honey complexion, killer cheekbones, & natural glow. When talking about her interest in representing the products (ranging in price from $58-$89), Eva shares with Estee Lauder her own experiences getting to know her face as an actress with, “I have an angular face and I kind of had to learn which angles were which, and how I could work that into a scene,” she continues. “It’s probably what was attractive to me about becoming an actress—the art of transformation.”

Accessories Access: Summer’s Best Statement Jewelry For $10 & Under!

When it comes to transitioning your wardrobe from season to season, sometimes favorite repeats from years past just need a little reinventing with bold, statement jewelry. For myself, I’ve been diving into accessories lately, finding new ways to wear my favorite tops with a little pop of color or sparkle. Also, I’m crazy about dressing up something casual with ornate earrings & an embossed cuff bracelet. As usual, as a Style Darling on a budget, I’ve found six items in each general jewelry category for $10 or under for your shopping & style inspiration!

For high-profile red carpet events, celebrities don statement earrings to compliment their looks, but these stunners aren’t just for gowns & cocktail dresses. Baubles & gem dripping from ears totally elevate any outfit, as seen on Zoe Saldana, Kate Hudson, Emma Roberts, & Emily Blunt.

When it comes to statement necklaces, it’s important to be aware of your dress or shirt’s neckline to truly show off the details in your jewelry. Let the necklace do all the talking & take note of the confidence in celebs like Heidi Klum, Jessica Biel, Nina Dobrev, & Amy Adams featured below.

Sometimes your dress or outfit is so sleek & simple, dressing it up with a statement bracelet is all you need to do, especially when sporting a head-to-toe monochromatic look. That’s when your sparkle will say the most, just like on Drew Barrymore, Selena Gomez, Olivia Palermo, & Emma Watson.

Lastly, a statement cocktail ring adds a special touch of glamour & chicness, complimenting your manicure, while tying the whole look together in an understated way. Check out what Blake Lively, Rihanna, Eva Mendes, & Kerry Washington wear for that little something extra.

A Love Letter To My Style Darlings!

Dear Style Darling Friends,

I am writing to share what’s been going on in my life this winter (despite the summer-ish looking picture to the right!), which is why I’ve been absent from the blogosphere. I am midway through my studies in an intense academic program, where I’ll be earning my Master’s Degree in 2-3 more semesters in Writing & Literature. My two loves in life are writing & fashion, while I get to live the fashion part everyday by exploring my own wardrobe & finding stylish bargains on the clearance racks, writing has become priority number one. I always sought to make WordPress my central blog location, but given the constraints of other responsibilities (two jobs & school), I’ve shared my favorite fashion stories & moments through other social media outlets that are more Smart phone friendly since I’m often on the go. I’d like to direct all of you to follow my Twitter (@MissAlissaL) Instagram (MissAlissaL), Pinterest, & Facebook in the mean time, until I am better able to manage my time on WordPress for those who are generous enough to share their interest in fashion & style with me. Not to mention that I’m currently without the means to adequately use my beginner level graphic design skills in order to better serve the image-heavy posts that I usually present.

Style Darling started out as a hobby blog since I loved sharing my fashion interest with friends, & then it turned into a passion project which blends my two loves. I am proud to say that this venture reaches more & more people on a regular basis, 1200+ followers. However, as I embark on this very important academic journey (which I hope will result in a memoir), supporting myself with two time-consuming jobs, & making the best of my situation both personally & professionally, I ask for your continued support. Style Darling is no longer dormant.

Additionally, I would like to take this opportunity to reach out to my fellow bloggers & readers that if you know anyone interested, or you yourself are a style blogger, I am currently accepting inquiries regarding guest posts, relating to fashion news or shopping tips in any capacity. Please contact me at StyleDarlingEmail@gmail.com for more information & we can bounce some ideas around to spread the word of style even further! Happy Styling my loves!
